  • My boss in Oregon was starting a new business in Ogden (machine shop) and offered me the position of foreman. After about 2 weeks' consideration, I took him up on it.

About 5 years later, the shop was sold to a large corporation and I was part of the deal.
I'm in Ogden, about as far south in Utah as I intend to go. Ever experience any muddy rain? How about pellet ("corn") snow? Weather is a bit different here...
I moved to Utah from Oregon in 1985. A friend from back home gave me a t-shirt with the message "What The Hell Am I Doing In Utah?" I wore it for awhile, got into some interesting conversations. For the present I'm glad to be in Utah... this state isn't bankrupt like so many others.
Family. We decided to help in the family horse business and buy some land...long story. It's been 4 years now and I'm still getting use to things...state liquior stores, lack of stores being open on Sunday, lack of great wines, people not liking you because you're not 'one of them'....I miss CA a lot LOL.
I fish the delta all the time, when my boys were still at home we went every weekend. Catfishing at night, stripers during the day. I go up to slypark, and wrights lake for the best trout. I'm in sacramento. How did you end up in the middle of nowhere UT.
