  • I've lived with two poodles. They are not dogs. They are small people with fur. They understand english just as well as you do. They may act like they don't, trust me, it's an act. If they act stupid, it's an act. Dealing with a poodle is like living with a strong willed child. They will try every psyc trick they can.

Personally, I think they have been bred to be too much like us. Normal "dog" personality is easier to live with. But, they lack the subtle complexity of the poodle nature. My wife is going to be a wreck when this one passes. She wants a standard next. Perhaps if I can get a hand in the early training of this one it won't try my patience so much...

Facinating animal. It just isn't a dog.
Poodles are very misunderstood mainly because of the "evolved" working cut that most people think is just for looks. They are some magnificient creatures and really tough dogs. I've never met one I didn't like except for those snappy little beast that are so mis-bred. Come on over and visit all you want in Reoville. You know that Rob is soon releasing the 18690 Woods? I have three ordered with 801 fittings, the only orders he is taking. The rest will go up on his site, about 200. The Woods are the be all-end all as far as comfort. My DH can only use the rounded woods because of his arthritic hands. I just picked up a Walnut/walnut, used Woodvil, from classies, today, and just loaded it. This is my first Walnut and I'm thinking it might just be a good "workhorse." It's not nearly as heavy as I thought walnut would be. I have purpleheart but they are original 1st and 3rd generation so I've eased off on putting them through "torture." Good to "talk" with ya. Alice
Thanks for my first visitor message! I'm out between Cushing and Central Heights, so we're practically neighbors. So cool to meet another local vaper. I still haven't ran into another vaper around here in real life, except those who I introduced the idea.
I would love a standard! I much prefer big dogs, this is my first little one. I got her from another groomer that couldn't afford to keep her any longer. She's a brat, but so stinkin cute I have to just laugh at her.
