I'm sorry to hear about your kitty, Eleanor. It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.
On the beach in FL is a great idea, close to family even better! Baby steps, one step at a time...make a list of milestones and more detailed lists, cross them off so you know you're moving along. It will keep you busy. Focus your emotions on it...may help a little.
But don't believe me...I'm a wreck myself!
Maybe after you've mourned for some time, you can think of finding another feline friend? -
