Spanky will be 8 March 2nd. He is the best housedog that I've ever had, very loving (spoiled) but it's very hard to maintain his weight. He shouldn't be more than 18lb but he went up to 26lb! My husband Karl couldn't resist giving him treats. That was before I retired. He retired before I did so I was not home during the day to monitor what Spanky ate. After I retired, I put him on a strict diet and with rigorous exercise, he is now at 19lbs. I had to do that because Cavi's are prone to heart problems. I want him with me for as long as possible.
His coat is heavy and extremely long which requires a LOT of combing and brushing but thank God he is used to it and loves a bath. He will even fall asleep in the water. Well as you can see, I can go on and on. Take care.

Bo is a South African Boerboel which is in the Mastiff family. The breed runs around 140-180 pounds normally. He's been at 155-160 for the whole time we have had him in our family. There is another, sub-breed, in the Boerboel family called the "Copperhead" that runs 180 and up. Bo is very well trained and very well behaved, never gets on the furniture or in bed , thank heavens! Well, he did climb into bed ith me once when the fire alarm batteries went low and my wife was trying to find out which one was making things scream.
Cute puppy, how big is he/she now?
