To answer your question, I switch cartos when somethin' ain't right; tight draw, bad taste, low production, whatever makes me unsure I want to
vape it for the coming hour.
After I boil my cartos and they have cooled and been blown out, I take a no-battery "stovepipe" hit; put the empty end against your lips and take a toot. If the draw is tight, you'll know. If it has picked up a burned flavor, or you didn't get all the old
vape out, you'll be able to taste it. After that you can choose if its worth fighting, or if its time to pitch.
