Oh I'm VERY proud of them, win, lose or draw. I think I just want it for THEM. This is the third year down their (since she has started playing) and they just can't seem to win that first game. I had to turn it off before it was over, I had made myself sick to my stomach over it. They had an awesome season and there is NOTHING for them to be ashamed of........they rock it!
Hubby sent me a text at halftime saying coach took several of the starters out when we got ahead but left them out too long - not sure what he did that for. But the second half best I could tell they played very hard and our daughter had 20 points - go Heather!
Anyway - I can't talk about it right now - just keep tearing up........I feel so bad for them and they have to stay for the opening ceremony thing tonight, knowing they lost.

Unless you are there and experience the ups and downs with the girls through the season it is really hard to understand - but your heart truly becomes a part of it. We lost in that tournament to that same team last year and it was a VERY hard thing to see and we were not playing well at all through most of the game. Daughter was having a horrible game and you could see it in her face - that breaks my heart. Then when they came back and won......wow........it was awesome! And my little ones swim over the weekend kinda finally gave her her own identity - she's not the little sister of the good ball player anymore - she's the swimmer. It has been one of the most awesome six days you can imagine........

Thanks for the good wishes. The news isn't good - inoperable, weeks to (at most) a couple of months. Rough time but at least she is happy enough for now.
