I am going to attempt to drill my ZAP to accomidate the 1/8 " wick a bit better for a looser fit, so I don't screw this up what size would you people recommend?

Sounds like you had a good run with them, I would have thought the menthol would have cracked it myself. I would consider yourself lucky and just get some more:)
I personally think that the ceramics ability to wick and it's ability to act as a vehicle for liquid play somewhat of an equal role, without one of them performance is decreased.
