The UltraFire cells fit just fine! I did make small circular indentations in the tops to mimmick the + contacts on the OEM DSE601 cells....I used a Dremel carbide bit to do it, medium RPM. -

VX2 manual battery ratings...
The thing that makes it an automatic battery is the air operated switch behind that hole. IF you plug that hole with epoxy, glue or solder.....you will make the battery completely inoperable. Take it from a guy who's dissected VX2 passthroughs & batteries to make his own contraptions. I plug... -

Got the UltraFire WF-138charger & four UltraFire 18350 batteries in today (SAT 15AUG2009). It took 11 days from the date I paid for it via Paypal....to ship from mainland China. Does it actually have 0.81Wh PRINTED on it? IF SO, that would be 0.81 DEVIDED BY 3.7VDC = 0.218 Amp hour or 218mAh (218 Milliamp hour). -

The regulator/limiter circuit on those is fragile and you can't just keep using it for heavy vaping (at least that was my experience). That is partly why I came up with my homebrewed contraptions. The other reason is to conserve the original VX2 batteries for the times when I truly do NEED them. -
