I haven't used NETS in Kanger or similar tanks - only in kayfuns. NETS perform much better at lower watts. My usual wattage is around 12, but with NETS I usually go down to 7-8 watts. Hope that helps.
I actually try smoking a sample of any tobacco before extracting it. Turkish Blend and Turkish Export from Peter Stokkeby are somewhat similar, but the Export tastes slightly better as a smoke. Could be because it is a "fine shag" - specifically cut for cigarettes.
Definitely sounds like a water problem if you're seeing live creatures in your extraction. Where is the water coming from, vodka, Everclear, or are you adding water yourself?
I always thought pg was more dehydrating. Gives me a terrible sore throat/dry mouth. I guess it depends on the individual, but I feel a lot less dehydrated when I limit my pg to 25%. Some people complain vg is too heavy on the lungs.
Has anyone noticed more flavor coming from thinner wires, or am I just imagining? My vape is much sharper and much more crispy with 30 ga than with 28 ga - all other things being equal.
It's a good thought !! The only concern is whether oak has any volatile elements inside that may evaporate with heat. The only way to find out is to experiment. It turns out this spiral is only 3 inches long - good for only one use. A small barrel might be a better investment.
BTW, I may have...
For oak flavored liquids, this infusion spiral may be all you need. Just let it soak in your pg for two weeks.

There is an old thread on the subject of oak flavored tobacco. I will post a link if I manage to find it. As I recall, there are small oak barrels you could buy to soak your liquid. For a smokey taste, I use Flavor Art's Black Fire Tobacco. All it takes is .5%.
Do synthetics interact with high proof alcohol or not. One of you said in another thread that they don't, but now I am hearing just the opposite.... So what is the verdict? Some of my extracts came out with a slight plastic taste from the caps on my jars. I emphasize some, not all ....
The more I read on the subject, I am starting to see your point. Someone said near the bottom of the link you posted, that some dehydrating agents can only absorb 25% of their weight in water. Kind of impractical if you're starting with 80 proof. I'd go with Calcium Oxide if possible...
I am not sure about 11x though, but your guess is as good as mine. I noticed in the video that he only used half the volume of alcohol in sieves. I'd say with 80 proof, you probably would double the amount. Still looking for his vodka video.
Those sieves can hold an awful lot of water. I doubt if you will need that much more with regular vodka. He has another video specifically made for vodka. Having a hard time finding it.
