    I use rubbing alcohol on mine. Not a ton - they dont need a bath :) its more of a truck stop shower... just enough on the tip of a q-tip to wipe them down and get any residue off of them.

    I wouldnt polish it just because the silver could. Keep it nice and clean but, I would leave it as is. If you do and then need replacement posts, regular size and long are available on their site. (i have extras just in case I need them)
