    I do the same but with the coil with the hole vertical like with mesh wick and a small puff of cotton for a wick just covering the hole, not into it. It's basically a bottom fed tilt dripper. I don't use it much because I get better flavor with the smaller head space of my Igo-S.

    I've got the SID and the SVD and I have a slight preference for the SID. It feels better in the hand and the menu system is a lot more intuitive. I don't regret buying the SVD at all, it's a solid unit.

    You answered your own question with the word "most". Some people like running higher ohm coils (3+) at higher voltages.
