    I use a Qtip when I fill upside down. As an added bonus it does a little cleaning when you remove it. I think the key here is to get a lot of wick exposed to the juice.     I have too many to use just one so I couldn't say. Definitely worth the extra length though. The original just holds way too little. The flip side is you fill it so often it becomes secnd nature. I wobder if they could make a wider version with the same innards. Fatter may be better than taller.!

    Check you airflow. Something must be blocking it. When you take a pull, ideally it's balanced between drawing air and sucking juice into the chamber. No ariflow means jst pulling juice.
