Thanks Kanj, I may stick with cotton afterall. The only issue I'm having is after 10 or so really good hits my juice starts to caramelize into some sort of thick, sweet, sometimes salty hodgepodge of a flavor. Clearer liquids don't do this, but I don't have many of those right now.
I'm...
Anybody use silica or ekowool with their micros? I'd like to try a more durable wick on mine but have no clue what size to order. 1mm seems fitting.
Currently wrapping 3/64" diameter so it's gotta fit in either that or a 5/64". Thoughts?
Variable Voltage is different from regulated and mech mods. You can dial your voltage up, for more vapor, flavor, etc. Best to start low and adjust in small increments to taste or until it "feels right." (Or generally set it x2 your ohmage. 2.2ohms @ 4.1 volts, etc)
Variable Wattage gives you...
That sums it up very nicely. I literally just wrapped one like 4-5 minutes ago. I've done Mini Coils, 3/32th" diameter, and Micro Coils from 1/16th" to 3/64". Anything smaller and you're heading into Nano territory.
I always wrap mine to be low resistance, between 1.3Ω and 1.5Ω.
Not that you...
+1, for sure.
Not only have I learned plenty of vape tips, advice, and recommendations, but he's even helped me help others. Respect & Gratitude. :thumb:
Rituals? Too many.
Wrap a new coil while listening to chillstep. Gently pull apart cotton wicks. Drip a drop into a frothy vapor filled RDA. Savor every moment :D
Wanna try something awesome? Get a 88% Cacao Dark Chocolate Bar. A real chocolate bar, not a flavor :P
Now vape your most favorite dessert flavor after enjoying a bite. Next Level? Pretty close!
Likely this. Good thing you've stuck with .8Ω and above.
Here's something you'll probably want. 20 amperes. Plenty of power and then some, because coils can suddenly change ohm so you want to give yourself a .2Ω margin of safety nettage.
Or check out micro coils, which, though I cannot...
Yea couldn't agree more suspectK. I was trying to find some Milkweed pods to harvest the silky "floss" they carry inside. HAH. Didn't find any but I bet they'd work great :(
That being said, I really do like cotton. I am having one problem though, after about 1-2 hours the wicks start to turn...
I had much the same experience with Protanks. Certain juices, especially strong flavors, work fine in them. The majority of what I have does not.
I thought I had vaper's tongue for the longest time. I thought my gear wasn't performing well. You name it. The eventual light at the end of the...
Temco on eBay for sure. I got the 100ft roll of 28GA and it's perfect for wrapping low res micro coils in RDAs. At that price it's really a no-brainer!
:toast:
You can also get some, albeit slightly more expensive, top-quality rebuildable supplies at Kidney Puncher.
You're doing just fine :)
How goes it today? I thought I should mention, while I really do like Velvet Cloud Vapor... and plenty other "premium" or "botique" vendors, the price can be a bit much depending on how much you use per day.
I just made an order with MtBakerVapor and they really have...
Great read, very entertaining and well thought. Now if only his views were that of the general consensus... Hmm. Everybody needs to tweet this article. :D
I had a very similar idea, with your heating element as a "hot plate" although it would in reality be more like a tiny little pin with a flat head. Put a bowl type structure around it to hold liquid near and vape on.
Not sure how it would work if a reality, it could in fact, be way too high...
Me too! Had a good idea. You know those cotton pods that grow naturally? I'm trying desperately to find some. I know they grow locally in sparse patches and I know they're still in-season. If I could find just *one* of these pods I'd be set for wick until Spring. Two? Maybe a whole year. You'd...
