    I think there might be some manufacturing inconsistencies. On mine it requires a lot of force to put the coils into the tank. Even after putting some juice on the o-rings. Once in, it's very hard to open and close the tank. I have also experienced random leaking and I use 30/70 juice. Too bad...

    Yes. It has nothing to do with matching the resistance on the coil. It is locking in a baseline resistance to calculate temp rise based on increase in resistance when heated. Of course I'm assuming you are using a coil with TC wire in it.
