Just a thought on the two screw posts in the Poldiac. I put one of the tiny o-rings used on the inner tube of the Did on the screw of the atty connector. It holds it in place well. Honsetly, I didn't see any tarnish on any of the contact points. I just wanted to familiarize myself with how everything is put together. As far as how cleaning them could affect performance when they don't appear dirty, I have no idea. Probably all in my head.- Pete54

This is my opinion only. If you are not using an ultra low ohm coil below 1.0Ω (which would be just about every mass produced carto/clearo or atty), I would definitely go VV or VW. Personally I think they are equally good systems. Now as far as the two devices you mentioned, if short term... -

Using Genesis RBA's has brought me back to mech mods. I was a diehard Provari user because I wanted regulated voltage. Apparently I have no Baking Soda in my house so I guess I'll pick some up tomorrow. Looks like a very gentle way to remove any tarnish without hurting the plating at all. Pretty simple as well.- Pete54

Jim, I did some reading on cleaniing silver plating and found this. I think I'm going to give it a try. Use Electrolysis Cleaning for Gentle Silver Plate Care Instead of removing the black silver sulfide tarnish, electrolysis reverses the chemical reaction, leaving the silver intact. To...- Pete54

I actually totally agree with you buzzlove. It drives me crazy. So you'd rather buy the knock-off because you can't afford the higher quality original device? I believe that the picture is of a Poldiac, in 18350 configuration, with a short Did. Instead of the "stock" base, that is the base that turns it into a HyDid.
