Provari on an Oscope vs Vamo

Kanthal Info: http://www.kanthal.com/Global/Downloads/Materials%20in%20wire%20and%20strip%20form/Resistance%20heating%20wire%20and%20strip/S-KA026-B-ENG-2012-01.pdf It's not a huge assumption, it's an easy deduction. Juice makes noise as it's converted from liquid to vapor, it takes heat to...

Provari on an Oscope vs Vamo

I'd have to figure out the duty cycle for the VAMO @ 4.3v to give accurate numbers. I just did a fresh wipe and install on my computer and havent installed Excel yet. I have zero desire to longhand those formulas.

Provari on an Oscope vs Vamo

I haven't seen $1,000,000, but I know it exists. There are plenty of threads and videos that demonstrate the rattlesnake effect. But there are also many reasons why you have not experienced it yet, such as: the condition of your hearing, voltage setting, attachments used, ect. The fact...

Provari on an Oscope vs Vamo

There is no need to figure for the thermal inertia. The "rattlesnake" tells us enough to know that the thermal inertia is low enough to not have any appreciable effect on stabilizing the coil temp. If it did, there wouldn't be a rattlesnake. But, in the interest of being a good sport...if you...

    Attention USAF Members

That story is a joke. If Mrs. Laura Weart had any authority on the topic then I'd figure she should be Dr. Laura Weart. Otherwise she's just another blind sheeple with completely inaccurate info.

Stacked 18350 in Vamo - Voltage Regulation Method? Provari-like Vape?

If I didn't loathe Dallas traffic, I would get up there and check out those B&M's myself.

Provari on an Oscope vs Vamo

I've been following along for a little while and since things have calmed down a bit (and I was reminded of this thread in another thread), I'll weigh in from an un-bias (I dont own a mainstream VV/WW mod) and scientific view. There is good relevance to the frequency argument. The word that...

Stacked 18350 in Vamo - Voltage Regulation Method? Provari-like Vape?

The VAMO in 2x18350 mode produces the same PWM signal as in 1x 18xxx mode. The vape is going to be the same (except for slightly hotter in 2x mode due to calibration error). The regulator just skips the boost stage and goes into the buck stage. The frequency of the Provari is irrelevant. For...

    Stack On Storage Units

I have the same one for all of my modding/building supplies. Then use a Plano 3-tray tackle box for the rest. Home Depot carries the same Stack-On unit and a few more to choose from. Saves a little on shipping.

Is this battery safe to use?

Peeling on the negative end is fine. Nothing to worry about in a Provari or other devices that have the switch on the positive side. Do NOT use it in a mechanical mod or any other mod that has the switch on the negative end.

Does anyone have a pic of an Igo-L on a CCTS?

    designations on panasonic batteries

It's just a naming convention. It means something to the manufacturer, but has no significant meaning to us other than UR is Sanyo's prefix for their Li-Ion cylindrical rechargeables' and NCR is Panasonics prefix for the same. CGR is the odd-ball out and doesnt follow any of Panasonic's...

    Calculating battery discharge time

It means if you were to hold the button down without letting up, it would take .45 hours for your battery to be completely drained. Since we only hold the button down a couple seconds at a time, it all depends on your vaping pace. A chain vaper might drain a battery in 3 hours where a light...

voltage and amps and watts, ohm-I!

If you are ignorant of the subject then you have no business castrating and dismissing a technically sound and accurate answer like you did in post #3. Just because it wasn't the answer that you were looking for doesn't make it (your words) "wrong information". If you came here seeking...

    Lifetime of Batteries?

Interesting fact: The LiPo type batteries used in Cig-A-like and eGo style batteries has more potential energy than a replaceable 18650 IMR battery. One could argue than today's APV's are safer than eGo style ecigs because if the built in safety features and safe chemistry batteries. ;)

    Lifetime of Batteries?

If these were NiCd batteries, true....But this does not apply Li-Ion batteries.

    Problem with AW IMR 18650

A full charge is 4.2v. Have you used the charger with other batteries and checked the voltage after charging?

    VAMO Battery Charging Question

This is not needed, and the original source of this recommendation is completely arbitrary. The Li-Ion charging profile slowly tapers off the charge current after the battery reaches 4.2v; the Constant Voltage (CV) or saturation portion of the charging process. The the cutoff current (the...

    Juice vs. Battery

They are sealed water tight. It it was nothing more than condensation there is no need for concern.

    Top Half Impedance Question

That would be completely dependent on the device. Each type will be different depending on the method and hardware used to manipulate the power. But in general, it doesn't matter too much for practical use. Battery charge life will be relatively equal regardless of Low or high resistance.
