    Trustfire's, for the most part, are junk. You are most likely overloading them and either tripping the protection circuit or the voltage drops out below the cutoff. There is a good reason that IMR/high drain batteries are recommended, and it's not just for safety.

    6.4v The cutoff voltage is automatically selected based on the input voltage. Just be sure to check the individual battery voltage from time to time. One battery will usually tend to discharge faster than the other. 2.7v + 3.7v = 6.4v with one battery nearing critical voltage.
