This is probably as simple as the explaination can get...
The RMS modes of the newer mods have just adjusted the On/Off ratio so that the average wattage (and corresponding output voltage) is equal to what you set the display to.
Depends on how you define "uncharged state".
A low charge (<3.2v), is bad for extended periods. Additionally the natural self-discharge will take the voltage down below the minimum voltage and cause damage to the battery.
A high charge (>4.1v) as also just as bad for extended periods.
A partial...
It is okay to do any and all of those things you mentioned. Lithium batteries are very forgiving of the factors that you have control of. The things that they are not very forgiving are the things that you have little or no control of, and also the reason that the protection circuitry is...
1. Never take anything at face value.
2. There is more wrong information on the internet than there is correct information.
3. It is impossible to eliminate all risk. Especially when the probability is somewhere between lightning and lottery.
4. It's too late in the day to...
I used to slot mine, then I started punching because it was easier (deck screw and a block of scrap wood). Then Boge got smart and is offering laser cut pre-punched cartos and I'm never going back to the manual labor.
Please refrain from giving battery advice ever again. You are wrong on all counts and your advice may cause people to waste thier hard earned money.
Bigdaddy, vaping at 11-12 watts is going to cause you to burn through a battery charge much faster that the average persons 6-8 watts. 12 hours...
Trustfire's, for the most part, are junk. You are most likely overloading them and either tripping the protection circuit or the voltage drops out below the cutoff. There is a good reason that IMR/high drain batteries are recommended, and it's not just for safety.
Amps at the atty are not the same as amps at the battery. True be told, the math says you'll get better battery life using lower resistance due to the V[avg] / V[rms] delta.
I'm going to have to bend the pins on the module and "fold" it over the board to get the vertical clearance that I need (14mm max), but the module will be soldered directly to the board.
I have 2 mods that I have built using a NO switch and a pulldown resistor (same schematic this board was...
eBay. Thousands of choices. 1mm x 8mm or 1x10 would be my choice. You can double then up if needed.

My preference (in order): Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mAh, AW 18650 2000mAh, EFest 18650 2000mAh.
I would never use a protected battery in a single cell VV mod. Safest choice and best performance is a battery meant for high drain devices. Personally I would probably toss the Ultrafires. There...
It's fairly safe to say that it is not hitting any "designed" limiting parameters, whether it be amps or watts. It is a side effect of the size. Small device, small components, small capability. It certainly doesn't help that the battery is only a 14500 that is being but through the strain of...
Quality batteries are the best defense, but not a guarentee. Internal resistance will change as the age, and one battery can age faster than the other.
You might try checking the batteries imediatly after hitting the cutoff. In my stacked batt OKR mod I have measured imediatly after and then...
I plan on using dry film soldermask, just need to find a good UV source. I saw this used in a DIY video:

Flatbed exposure units are little out of my price range. I entertained the idea of modding an old flatbed...
6.4v
The cutoff voltage is automatically selected based on the input voltage. Just be sure to check the individual battery voltage from time to time. One battery will usually tend to discharge faster than the other.
2.7v + 3.7v = 6.4v with one battery nearing critical voltage.
Thanks Java. I probably spent over an hour creating the footprint with the doubled pads because that's was the suggestion I read on the gEDA wiki. As soon a I saw your footprints the light bulb turned on: use the line tool and convert to element. Double
Yesterday I...
