    PCB Experts: OKR-T/6 Custom PCB - Recomendations/Critique

I am taking a stab at DIY PCB creation and would like some input on design. Board size is 1120mil x 500mil (~1 1/8" x 1/2") Power traces are 50mil minimum. Signal traces, 30mil. Top layer is only positive voltage. Bottom layer is only ground plane. Ignore the double row of holes on the OKR...

    mahhhhhh maaahhhh hahahahaha

 this is like watching kids on a playground. Grow up or ..... Payne, Bugg's post says it all. There is an efficiancy loss with the added circuitry. You need to move up to 18650s if you want longer run time. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy anything claiming 4000mAh. The 2 batteries that...

why is stuff on the forum moved to obscurity.... sometimes, and other times not?

This thread should have been posted in the Site Feedback section. I'm sure someone will be along soon to move it. ;) On a serious note, as a former moderator on a very large automotive site I understand both sides of the coin; members want help and post threads where the traffic is, and...

    Read: Batteries EXPLAINED

Something like an eGo Pasthrough that uses a standard USB to USB cable has the charging circuitry built into the device. All devices of that type must have the internal charging regulation, or else batteries would be exploding at the cyclic rate from a 5v charge.

    Read: Batteries EXPLAINED

The current rating for the wall adapter is not important as long as it is greater than the output current of the charger that you are pluging into it. Just because it is rated for 2.1 amps doesn't mean the charger is going to use 2.1 amps. In series batteries, the beginning voltage is not as...

Talk about splitting hairs.... Keep in mind that the cutoff voltage is voltage under load. By the time you do a voltage check after hitting the cutoff your batteries have already recovered and will read higher than the stated cutoff voltage. Usually 3.3-3.4v. But it is all really a moot point...

    Read: Batteries EXPLAINED

Another point that needs to be made is knowing the max discharge current for your batteries. I have seen a few posts with the rebuildable atty crowd where someone is boasting about how great there ultra low resistance atty was vaping. One that stuck out was a 0.6ohm (?!?) dual coil powered by...

    Just For LM2596 Users

Autodesk 123D - Free 3D Modeling Software, 3D Models, DIY Projects, Personal Fabrication Tools I've been playing with this for a little while now. In still working my way through the learning curve, but I like it better than Sketchup.

How many volts do you need?

How many volts do you need? As many volts as you have the resistance for. Ignoring differences in coil/atty/cartomizer design and function, 4 volts with an 2 ohm coil would theoretically vape exactly the same as 1 volt with a 1/8th ohm coil or 80 volts with an 800 ohm coil; all giving 8...

    ULTRAFIRE BRC 18650 3000 mAH ?

The Ultrafire BRCs (3000 & 4000 mAh) aren't worth the trash bag that they should be thrown out in. Tests have been abysmal; grossly inflated capacity, wide variance between cells, different cells in the same wrapper, ect... A single cell VV device needs a high drain battery. Stick to the...

    Best 18650 batteries?

Post #6 of that thread. The Panasonic holds 376mAh more than the AW 1600 at the 3.3v cutoff.

    Best 18650 batteries?

Just be aware that the LGs are unprotected ICRs and even though he tested them a 5 amps, doesn't mean they are rated for the same.

    The Bolt and battery...advice please

The spacers are perfectly safe. Nickles and electrical tape could work too if you wanted to bring out your true MacGyver. ;) To be honest, I'm a little confused at how someone though you were stacking batteries. Your first post was perfect clear to me.

    xtar wp2 ii question

The WP2 and SP2 have two completely independent channels. Charging current is not divided between the channels. The WP6 is a bit more complex in the way that is handles 3 paired channels. If there are 2 batteries in the same channel, It doubles the charge current and then switches between...

Any Vamo/Etna VV VW owners here yet?

RMS (Root Mean Square) Voltage is easiest described as the the equivalent constant DC voltage. Most of the mods coming out of China have a pulsed output; ~6v on, 0v off. That is my Smoketech VV Gripper set to 3.0v. It has 6v half the time, and 0v half the time; Average (AVG) of 3.0v. When you...

    Cheapskates Unite ;)

I have a little bit of experience with electronics ;), but that is certainly good advise and a good perspective for those that might not be. My current everyday mod: Full day plus a little on a pair of 14500 batteries. Much more pocket friendly than a tube mod or even an eGo 650...

It doesn't matter, AVG is inaccurate no matter what battery configuration you are using. The error in AVG with 2x18350 is greater than a single bat, but both are still inaccurate. Set it to RMS and forget about it.

    Cheapskates Unite ;)

I wouldn't call myself a cheapskate...tight--- would be more fitting. I build my own mods, or buy cheap mods and upgrade them (Bolt). Who needs a high end PV when you can build 10 VV BoxMods for the same price. The vapor coming out of the drip tip it the same, and I don't need the bells and...
