Any Vamo/Etna VV VW owners here yet?

Sorry, I should have been more specific seeing that this is capable of running single 18350.

question about charging an ego 650 mah

2-3 hours of emergency USB power from the charger to charge his eGo bat. Not 2-3 hours vape time in a PV. ;)

Missing Package - Smoktek refuses to do anything about it.

You know who's responsible...but expect resolution from an innocent party? Whether a small business owner decides to cover the loss or not is his choice. He is not obligated. You agreed to the terms even if you didn't read them. To entertain the ideas of sticking SmokeTEK with a chargeback...

Any Vamo/Etna VV VW owners here yet?

Input voltage. Ideal figures: 10w / 7.4v input = 1.35A drain current 10w / 3.7v input = 2.7A Then you have to account for the pulsed output and Vrms which will lower the current, then account for efficiancy losses which will raise the current. More math than I have time for right now. But the...

Any Vamo/Etna VV VW owners here yet?

If you are vaping below 10 watts, then protected 18350's would do fine, if they fit. 10 watts keeps the drain current below 2C, which is the recommended current limit for most ICR batteries. Over 10w or in 18650 mode...high drain is a must. But good luck finding trustworthy protected 18350's...

question about charging an ego 650 mah

You can charge your eGo from that USB port....but....that USB is only powered by inserting a charged battery and removing the power cord. It is meant as an emergency power source. You'll only get about 2-3 hours out of a high capacity 18650. Good for emergencies, not so much for normal use.

    Best 18650 batteries?

The AW IMR 2000mAh will fit. Even though they are a button top, they aren't any longer than the flat tops. AW 2000mAh: 65.2mm Pany CGR/CH: 65.0mm Don't use an ICR protected battery in an single battery VV mod. A high drain battery is needed.

    xtar wp2 ii question

Pair or single wouldn't matter in the WP2/SP2 chargers; Independent channels. 2 hours would be about right for that current and capacity.

    Best 18650 batteries?

Posts # 16 & 18. Not all AW's are Panasonic cells. It is more likely that only a few are Panasonic.

    Strange battery behavior

My only thought is a minute difference in how far the button protrudes upward. With the Provari having a recessed positive contact, a slight difference could mean no contact.

What kind of batteries? All of them the same? Flat-top/Button-top?

    Quick battery question

This all goes back to using the batteries properly. There is a right and wrong to nearly everything. The wrong get used as examples in safety guides while the right keep doing what they were doing because they know better. To dismiss stacked batteries as dangerous for the sole fact that...

    Best 18650 batteries?

Lol, Willy could probably jump over to the flashlight forums and hold his own with the battery "enthusiasts". AW uses some Panasinic batteries, but certainly not all AW batteries have Panasonic inside. Panasonic does not make 18350, 16340, or any 17xxx batteries. So AW obviously has other...

    Quick battery question

This is not what happens when "stacked" [series] batteries fail. One battery can discharge into the other in a parallel setup, not series setup. In a series setup it is common for one battery to discharge faster than the other and have a lower voltage. This would be impossible if it work as...

Question on the 18650 Sanyo battery

CGR18650CH links: Cylindrical type | Lithium Ion Batteries | Batteries & Energy Products | Industrial Devices | Panasonic Global http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/includes/pdf/ACA4000CE285-UR18650A.pdf Grapevine talk sourced from a Panny rep has it that Panasonic is dropping the CGR/CH...

    The bolt and the kick

With Kick: 2.5ohm @ 8.5w = 1.84A Without Kick: 1.7ohms and 3.8v = 8.5w = 2.23A Less amps with the Kick, probably not the reason that the switch died. :) But it is very easy to replace the switch and upgrade the wiring when it does go south. I managed to squeeze 18awg in there to run a...

    Kill my battery before charging?

The Lithium Ion charge cycle does not allow for "overcharging" or extended charge times. The chargers do effectively shutoff, even though there is a minute amount of current still flowing. When you start charging a battery, the charger starts in constant current mode. It will delivery a fixed...

    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

Heat reflector/airflow isolator....maybe a polished SS tube that would slide over the Pyrex and coil? Would need to cut a relief for the wire to run to the posts, but it would seem 270 degree coverage would be better than nothing.

Question on the 18650 Sanyo battery

That video says nothing about how well they handle a short other than neither one had a catastrophic failure. +1 point for each. The temperature behaved exactly as what should be expected when shorting batteries of completely different specifications. AW 1600 is capable of safely delivering 24...

Watts - same same but different?

I don't think that voltage above/below battery voltage will make much difference. I can't speak for the ProVari, but of the SmokeTech devices that I have seen tested, or put on a scope myself, they are essentially a boost converter followed by a buck converter in series. Meaning the battery...
