finally went 28ga kanthal
I have 28 here, but really only use 30 on my mesh and silica rebuildables. I usually get about 1.5 ohms with 5 wraps on the 30. Anybody use both do you feel there is that much of a difference between the 28 and 30?- LongDraw

Cleaning SS Wicks?
Personally I feel that after a few tanks the draw on my cobra gets tighter with build up, though this may very well just be me. At this time I usually take the wick and let it soak in a shot glass full of everclear and use another wick and then rotate. Been trying the drill bit method lately...- LongDraw

Do ProVari's Mini get dirty?
Black mini provari here. Had it since about the first week I started vaping and the only pv I use. Never dropped. There is no wearing or scratches either. -

It doesn't bother me doing this with the ody/peny. Only takes a few extra seconds, plus gives me more wick at the coil so it is worth it. -

So really just do like I do with peny/ody now then. I could wrap a coil around 3.5 mm wick, and then trim off 3 strands from each side before installing in the rebuildable. It's just been nice cause the 3.5 seems to hold a good amount of juice at the coil. -

LOL. Same here. Have a 3.5 mm silica I am finishing off, one in the wings, and one coming with the ithakas. I can't remember who but another poster suggested trimming 3 wicks from the channels and that has worked great for the oddy's/pennys so will be doing that.:toast: -

Some may say this is overkill, but I don't mind the few extra steps. One poster had suggested boiling your silica. So I first cut 10 or so wicks, boil for 10 minutes then dump the water and boil again for 10. Then i just let them air dry and keep them in a separate bag. When I am ready to...- LongDraw

How to determine optimal voltage and/or wattage based on resistance when using an VV/VW Device.
Using ohms law you can determine the wattage you are at based on the volts you are using and the resistance of the coil. I believe the formula is Voltage multiplied by Voltage divided by resistance. So an atty at 4 volts and a 2ohms would be, 4 x 4 divided by 2 equals 8. There are online...- LongDraw

What's the best way to prevent/combat gunking up an atty coil?
It is inevitable unfortuantely. The good news is, the amount it gunks up is dependent on the juice. Darker juices, and especially some naturally extracted tobacco juices will gunk coils faster than clearer juices. For NETs this is also dependent on how well they filter it. So, for some...- LongDraw

cleaning contacts
Thanks Imeo. May have to try the mesh as well, have quite a bit here. Since I was worried about the scratching I have just been using isopropyl alcohol to clean the contacts on my pv once a week or so.
