I've also been trying to figure out a way to make it work with the wire INSIDE the wick... I've thought of poking holes with a pin and kind of "sewing" it back and forth but I don't think it'll wick if I did that. using one hole and running it up the center and out the top would be way to low...
I do mine manually. I fold and lock the two loose end into the negative screw then stick the allen key in the other end and spin until it gets tight against it. takes a few minutes but has worked well for me so far.
