    has anyone ever tried the trick of rubbing your mesh wick on some cotton and winding up with a thin skin of cotton on the mesh and then inserting the wick into the coil.. It seems to work great for me ...........you get the advantage of a mesh wick and a bonus of the thin cotton...

    You may have had a dry hit......the wick was not wet enough and went dry quickly......maybe............just a guess........
