    Quick note on the ERA air hole. I had mine enlarged slightly before I even received it but it seemed a little tight for my liking so today I used a small file and made it a bit bigger. It's like a new device! Much better vapor and flavor.

    32awg Kanthal-A1, 5-6 coils wrapped around 3mm silica wick folded in half. Before connecting the leads I put the loop around the center post, creating a juice well. Trim the ends tight to the coil.

    I tried making a small wick, just a bit longer than the coil, but I found it was less forgiving and prone to either flooding or being too dry. For me at least, having a loop around the center pin soaks up over squonking and provides me with more hits between squonks. Different strokes I guess...

    I have both. I don't believe that anyone could tell the difference in a blind test. As Tony said, SS stays cleaner, is stronger and is easier to coil due to the different bottom nut. Oh and Classy, thanks for taking out the trash .... again!

    No wobble on any of my DIDS and Provari's. I would go with the SS. If they hit differently I certainly can not tell and I prefer the durability and lack of maintenance needed with the SS.:2c:
