    I also have an Efest and an X-tar. The LUC4 and the X-tar VP1. I really like the displays and being able to change between .25, .5 and 1. and the Xtar has recovered some cells that I thought were gonner's. Been working awesome for me.

    That could very well be where your issue is, maybe the bottom coil is not being fed properly, is touching the top coil or the side or is having some problem. It is a complete PITA to rebuild those dual coils heads with dual coils. not worth the time IMO when its much easier to rebuild it with...
