The current rebuild kit would be for the older 510s, only things useable in it for the new 510 would be the spring, firing pin and tube. The center pin and gaskets would not be usable.
Until Rob gets a new kit setup a spring or two should cover you.
I have both and didn't really care which I used, but since there were a few posts of cracked firing pins I quit using the flat tops in the Grands to reduce the stress from having to bend the firing pin farther.
Why flat tops? I use button top AW 1600(24amp) and 2200(20amp) in my metal Reos and ,flat top Sony VTC4 and 5, LG HE2 in my Woodvils. I will buy AW to replace the flat tops when they die
Drill all the way through, use a longer bolt and a nut on the outside. Put a rebuild kit in it and it will vape like champ and make a great gift for someone in need.
I've found the same as HappiVappi, build it, vape it, dry burn and vape again. Longest I've gone is 2 months then I get bored and build a new coil. If I had to do the all the work you are Ed101 I'm not sure I'd still be using it.
I've got enough wood for matching end caps like I did on my Maple Burl, but was also wondering about a bit of contrast. Still keeping it in the color scheme was why I'm looking at Black and the slate end caps since the wood is black and grey
I tend to prefer solid instead of plated contacts even if there is more maintenance involved. My thought process is based on assumption and no actual facts:facepalm:
I'm wondering if the small layer of gold will really transfer electrically as well as the solid beryllium copper will. Since...
Yeah a frog delivered it a while ago and I've been holding on to it, soon my precious.
With the aluminum plate it might look better with just a black AFC instead of all black. Then it would be black, silver, black, silver, black, sliver matching drip tip:p
Still trying to decided on...
Instead of what I posted, I almost put "In before Rob shuts us down" but he did anyway:facepalm:
Hope you get this behind you quickly and can get to the fun stuff you like doing, like finishing those April Woodvils
