They don't actually, they were supposed to have 0.7 and 1 ohm coils for it but they haven't been released. There are some some you can get on fasttech, but considering the authentics are fiberglass/ceramic paper I don't really want to know what's in those. The subtank isn't a bad idea if he...
My pals call me db. :) If you mean like... byproducts of heating it with eliquid? I'm too wonky at the moment to go down the path of thinking about it. However, considering you want a resistance wire...
Resistivity (Ohm/mil-foot)
Stainless Steel: 440
Titanium: 259
Iron: 58.5
Nickel: 42
Copper...
Two quick notes:
1. Something being catastrophic by it's nature is rare, and that rareness can often lead to a sense of false confidence... which increases the chances of something avoidable happening.
2. I'm not convinced we hear about a lot of close calls, because; people with their mech mod...
Hey mate, welcome! I'm sure you'll get great answers, so can I just ask how I should pronounce your name phonetically? I have the nutz part down, but the rest is making me feel dyslexic. :)
Edit: nvm I got it. That's embarrassing, let's never speak of this.
Why yes! From my notes, which I'm sure I swiped from somewhere:
Stainless steel (74% iron + 18% chromium + 8% nickel): .00094
Carbon Steel (99% Iron, 1% Carbon): .005
High Silicon Steel (96% Iron, 4% Silicon): .002
There's a few other 0.001-.002 blends if iron/nickel/aluminum/etc in my notes...
I agree with everything, minus the above. :) I think you might be talking about the V1 with the leaking which was before I found one and made it my own and with the V2 I've experienced no leakage. I picked up another steamboat the other day, and it's the same but can't speak to random clones...
I agree with Jockamo on this -- the right amount of wicking just leading up to the holes but not blocking into them. It may be some other aspect, but it definitely sounds like a wicking issue. You might want to consider rayon, or japanese cotton. This link may also be of help (was for me!), a...
Heya mate!
I'm going to respectfully disagree about the magma, and steer you towards something like a tugboat v2. The magma is a great atty, but has a lot of quirks to get right as a first RDA and can be a bit leaky. Tugboat is pretty bullet proof and simple, while also designed for single or...
1. Glad you're OK :)
2. What TheJakeBailey said, as he's less wordy than I.
I'd written a paragraph given you mad props for being willing to post that instead of burying it in your shame box, then read down a bit and went "Oh." Still mad props for that initial post, but it concerns me that you...
Aha what you do with the eliquid with the now dissolved plastic in it is your call. A new tank makes sense if it puts your mind at ease, but I wouldn't call you crazy if you used it. I might if you didn't use it, but then used the tainted eliquid. ;)
*gives the horns*
Hey mate!
You'll really do yourself a favor if you're methodical about it. I'm not saying it's not PG, but I will say PG-allergies are often the vaping equivalent of going gluten-free, when it's often more likely a flavoring involved, and someone will switch to all-VG with a new company using a...
Heya mate! I agree that that is a beautifully crafted first two sentences. My concern with teflon would be "offgassing."
Teflon, or polytetraflourethylene (don't ask why I remember this) which is painted on the aluminum is basically carbon chains surrounded by a layer of flourine atoms...
Unobtanium?
My understanding is the software is using a lookup table to measure resistance changes in the wire which it can correlate with the temp of the wire as it gets hotter and colder, and nickel has a pretty high temp/resistance ratio besides being widely available in various sizes...
Heya mate, I missed this. I think you got volts and ohms confused. Coils gunk up mostly due to flavorings getting all up in your wicks and cooked onto the metal coil itself. Lower ohm coils (1.5 v 2.5 ohm) run much hotter, and can speed that process up. If you have a VV device, it's generally...
The thing is, I can't see how that'd happen based on my understanding of how acids and plastic work. It isn't like there's a good layer of plastic on top of a skunky layer that has been exposed.
e.g., plastic is made of oil, which is formed into polymers out of smaller monomers. Much of it is...
Hey mate! A few notes:
1. Heartburn/GERD/etc. can be a normal side effect of quitting smoking (you can google it, I had to to make sure), and it can show up a year after you've stopped. You can help ride it out by avoiding foods/liquids that make it worse.
2. Drink more water than you think...
Yeah, I think you're OK. I'm willing to listen and be educated further on it, but it's my understanding that you're basically compromising the structure as it's an acid, and if you'd left it longer enough would have been removed that it'd crack along stress points -- but it isn't as though the...
If you switched out the eliquid and rinsed very well you should be OK. You don't want to vape the eliquid in the tank that is doing it, as that's basically dissolving the plastic which then goes into the eliquid which then goes into your wicks and possibly you.
I've seen and done worse. :) Everyone else above me is right -- if everything is equal, you'll get an equal vape. It's possible something isn't as equal as you thought it was (dirty contacts, 3.4V, etc.), or placebo is a powerful mistress.
lol hey mate, welcome from me too. You have to have 5 posts under your belt before the site lets you under its belt. We can get that sorted in this thread so can find someone better able to help you besides us (I also suggest a more descriptive subject when you hit the DIY section). So, a few...
