    RDA Centered builds

I've tried both ways and have to vote for bending. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I've noticed that if one coil is further away than the other, they won't heat up at perfectly together at exactly the same time. It's a lot easier to get them perfectly centered if you bend them I've found, but...

RDA Anything come out better then Magma for capacity flavor bang for buck

Factoring in capacity, I'd say the Plume Veil. You can pack a ton of cotton into it. It definitely doesn't leak as much either and makes much better vapor and flavor is about the same. I had 2 Magmas then went to the Plume Veil for a long time, now I'm loving the Derringer. It doesn't hold...

Ended Prizes! 15 millionth ECF post...

I've been buying new RDA's left and right. This was a lot cheaper when I was trying different juices...I think I'm more addicted to tinkering than I am to nicotine!

    RDA The Kennedy

That looks like a cool design, but also a massive PITA to rebuild. I can't tell you how many RDA's I've bought to try and never ended up using long term. I'll stick with my Derringer. It already hits so hard that I end up gasping for air if I take back to back hits. I also just noticed...

    RDA Derringer Builds....

I've been using an authentic since they first came out. I've got a Prax2s, but mainly run it on the Sigelei box you're using, but at 60-100w (depending on juice). Mostly 60w with Grant's Custard. Here's what I'm using. - Dual parallel coils @.14ohm (g-plat elite 26g) + organic cotton (cotton...

RDA Derringer user just got his Aeolus...not impressed

The one thing that I forgot to mention was the heat sink that comes with the Aeolus - I never used it. Unless you're running quad coils, I can't see this ever getting hot enough that you need it. It adds a ton of bulk and another layer in between the battery and they atty.

    RDA Flavor chaser RDA!

I own almost all of the authentic RDA's out right now (new Hobo coming today btw). The Derringer + Trinity Copa tip on a Sigelei box is easily the best combo so far for me. A few things to note: Center your coils and rebuild them when they start to show wear. Don't over pack it with cotton...

RDA Derringer user just got his Aeolus...not impressed

I recently got one from Vapordna and also ordered the competition cap from the manufacturer. Since I haven't put my Derringer (authentic) down since getting it, I put the same exact build into the Aeolus to compare it. The build: g-plat elite 26g (dual parallel coils) @ .14ohms w/organic...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

Something could be causing the external layer to break down faster than normal. That's where the alluminum oxide external layer of the wire is the primary anti-corrosive and heat conducting component. Read this. Scientific discovery: Why aluminum doesn't rust: 5/00 The core is iron and...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

I've bought wire from them before when I used to use kanthal A1 and never had that problem. They're a good supplier, but I would contact them about this. It could be a bad batch. Does it happen only after you dry burn under running water? It could be something in your water that is...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

Sorry I had you confused with Phoneguy. For Rumi - Adjustable wattage and voltage are two different things. Only the older devices let you adjust voltage, so I was trying to get to the same - or close to the same - stats you had. I would seek someone out that has the same device at this point...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

Thanks for summarizing everything Rumi. Yes, 30g is 30 gauge wire. I have to say I didn't realize how popular those flasks became. I never thought anyone would buy them with the Sigelei 150w available for half the $. I'm noticing that you have a ton of voltage but very little wattage and I...

RDA Question for Derringer owners: Spit back

I've got an authentic from the second batch and this only happens if I drip a lot into it and/or don't let it sit long enough to absorb.

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

Are you burning juice even when it's the name brand stuff? If so, we can eliminate the DIY blend as the problem. I have a feeling you could be running dry and burning your wick and it's giving you a burnt juice taste. Every hit will taste burnt if you burn the cotton even a little bit. If...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

I've never had to recoil anything that often so I'm curious what you're using for juice and devices? I can go almost a month and I'm using a 150w Sigelei and Praxis rotating between a Derringer, Plume Veil, and Hobo. For juices I mix Electrum Blonde 18mg and Gremlin Custard 24mg (both 50/50)...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

You're burning your juice. Certain juices are not good to sub-ohm if that's what you're doing. Try lowering your voltage if you're using a regulated device. Go as low as you can and move up until you find a sweet spot. You also might need to go to 30g. One or both of these should fix the...

Old Coils, rust, bad flavor, easier to gunk?

+100^^^THIS^^^^ Forget sticky - every vape shop should be posting this on every wire item listed. No matter what type of wire you use, this is going to happen. And once that happens, you're inhaling dangerous ..... DO NOT USE IT ONCE IT'S BLACK AND CRUSTY. If you're using some of the...

    G-Plat - The best? I think not!

This is an ID 10T error. The more you pulse, the more life you take off the coil - especially if you're treating it like A1. It can't handle it. If you check the resistance of the coil over time, you'll notice it will rise as it starts to deteriorate. As one other person said - pulse lightly...

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try the floss trick and contact them. It's definitely the second version.

RDA Got a new Praxis Derringer - big problem with the little RBA

So I just got done building my coils, which came out beautifully at .14, right where I want them. Threaded my cotton, dripped my juice and started to put it back together. That's when I noticed the big problem. It seems as if the channel that was cut into the base for the lower o-ring to sit...
