    Regulateds are better than mechs

Well, especially for mechs, these are usually purposely built by a very small groups of people... made out of conductive metal that is modified to hold a battery and attach an atomizer. The authentics are not mass produced. If I purposely built a vaping mod and sold it to someone, it is still...

    Regulateds are better than mechs

In any mod, the switch is completing a circuit. In a mech, the switch is mechanical and works by moving some much larger metal contact. The mech mod above is a Cherry Bomber-like setup. Some mechs, like the Dimitri or Abaddon work by moving a metal plate to touch battery positive (the other...

Please help... Throat pain from e cig

The most clear issue here is that OP is taking direct lung hits with 14mg nicotine. This is the most predominant cause of any throat pain. The PG content of the liquid is negligible compared to the 14mg nicotine.

Please help... Throat pain from e cig

Its the nicotine. Drop to 3mg for the deep lung hits. Enjoy your vaping. Glad to help!

MCV Raptor T6 - the new mech box from the guys who did the Cherry Bomber!

Focalecig is running a group buy on the aluminum version of this clone right now. I have found a copper version on 88evape.com, which is a trashy website, but looking through my massive collection of vaping business cards, I have one from this company so I must have purchased from them before...

What's the most overpriced piece of vape equipment you've seen in a shop?

Your math is not correct though. You have to realize that everything is more expensive in your country. It's not just the exchange rate. You also pay ridiculous VAT on everything. The product that costs $20 US, is going to cost about £20 UK. Its only when you start looking at much higher...

    basically a mech mod is...

18650 is a much more common vaping battery and fits the form factor of the majority of mods. OP should avoid the 26650 only because few mods actually use it, its awkward, and a dual 18650 configuration will work just fine. As for the OP: You can use any mech perfectly safely. For a mech or...

What strength e-liquid do you VAPE?

Yeah, I think the majority of lung-hitters vape 3mg. It is, by far, the most popular and most strongly sold concentration. Far more than 0mg or 6mg. And if you are not a person who vapes 3mg, you surely know someone who does. The fact that it is not included here makes it evident that OP was...

I think I used too much cotton for my wick

What gauge wire? The little boy has huge airflow. And your mod is a dual parallel 18650 unregulated. Maybe OK if you are using 26g, but if you are using 24, I would drop it a little more. .21 would be close to an extra 20 watts. ETA: 6 wraps per coil around a 2mm screwdriver.

I think I used too much cotton for my wick

What resistance did you build the coils at? If using dual coils of 24g kanthal, shoot for .21 ohm. If 22g kanthal, .15 ohm. The wick can be cut almost flush with the base of the RDA. You really only need enough to dip down into the juice well but want an opening under the coil for airflow...

    basically a mech mod is...

A mech is infinite wattage. It is up to you to build your RDA to draw a safe amount of power, as determined by the battery configuration. But the volts are what the battery level is. And the resistance is what the RDA coils are built at. And so, by controlling your build resistance, you...

    Newbie Vaper Gear

TL;DR. But I think the gist of it is "vaping is good, smokers should start with good low nic juice and a sub-ohm setup"? I agree with this, but many members here prefer tootle puffing and is how they quit smoking. I think each person really just needs to find something that works for them...

    Regulateds are better than mechs

I only use mechs. Some are dual parallel battery mech boxes. I generally build pretty low, usually putting my power output somewhere in the vicinity of 100 watt, give or take 20. I know exactly how I am going to build any RDA. The number of coils, the wire gauge, the number of wraps, etc...

    Mechanical box mod issue.....Help!

It's a good learning experience. And a good thing your safe chemistry batteries did what they were supposed to do (ie: not explode). Mechs are great. They can last forever if taken care of. They are all just a simple circuit and have no wires or solder points. The power you get is result of...

    Mechanical box mod issue.....Help!

Hmmm... I guess it is doable then. If its marked correctly, the whole aluminum mod is positive when the fire button is pressed (when not pressed, it is insulated by the delrin). And the negative is directly connected to the atomizer 510 pin. This is an unusual configuration.... but it works...

    Mechanical box mod issue.....Help!

Judging by the button placement and metal internals, this is full mech. It is not simply an unregulated box with wires.

    Mechanical box mod issue.....Help!

Not possible, if the bottom is a plate like the OP mentioned. Putting the batteries in using alternate directions will be a hard short, as long as both batteries are fully screwed in. They are directly connected via the copper plate. (there is plate at the top too) ETA: a mech is never in...

    Mechanical box mod issue.....Help!

Its a dual parallel configuration, so the batteries need to both go in the same way. Preferably, the battery positive should go towards the atomizer, since the negative contacts are larger and could short if the battery wrapper is damaged at all. ETA: any batteries that were hard-shorted are...

    Premium vs budget E juice

The Tugboat is good RDA too. I have a Tugboat clone and an authentic Tugboat v2. I like the extra air with the v2. I also have a steam stack wide-bore drip top on mine. I would recommend a top cap like this, not only because it helps keep the coils cooler, but because it is very easy to drip...

    As a never-smoker, I'm really liking e-cigs

My wife doesn't vape or smoke. She criticizes me sometimes about all the gear that I have. Or about the clouds. But usually she is cool with it. It would be even cooler if she also vaped, though. But that is her choice. If she wanted to try vaping, I would love to help with some gear to...
