The Overlooked Tootle Puffer Gear Thread

Magmas are underrated. They're a very well thought-through design whether you're running one coil or two, with a larger juice reservoir than most. The only flaw is that they leak like a sieve. Carry tissue.

    ACHILLES RDA by Titanium Mods

Ok, I broke down and ordered the last clone on the Bonanza site (the pain of which I eased by picking out a couple of SS drip tips, the cost of which was swallowed up by the 35% discount; an Achilles clone and two DTs, $39, not bad).

I saw that. Looks like they're stealing a play out of Amazon.com's playbook (My Freedom Smokes Prime?), but a $75 investment into a company that could be belly-up due to Deeming Regulations inside of a year doesn't sound like a good idea.

Andria, do you remove the draw adjustment screw in the base of the deck?

If I'm understanding you correctly (and I think I am; you're talking about the cone directly beneath the coil), and end mill might well do the job. The problem is that I don't have a milling machine  In the meantime, I'm hanging on the promise of improved airflow in the V2.

I can't see the internals well enough to know, so I'm wondering if the problem couldn't be alleviated with a drill press.

I'm half of a mind to pick up the lone remaining Achilles and get one of the Prometeys just to get the discount. But I'm a little leery of the V1 draw issue, and a rebuildable cartomizer? I haven't used a carto in years.

I inquired about that, and was told that although they intend to produce an Achilles II clone, production hasn't started. Meanwhile, these guys claim to have a V1, just not sure how much I trust them: ACHILLES - Titanium Mods Atomizer RBA - RDA Dual Mod Clone

I got the same. And, as of the moment, the Frog in Fog Achilles II clone isn't even a gleam in their eye, let alone a purchasing option. Whattaya say now, Andria?

Just in case you guys haven't seen Michael Siegal's blog this morning (FDA is Out of Its Mind: Deeming Regulations Should Be Called "The Cigarette Protection Act of 2015"), it's worth a look. The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: FDA is Out of Its Mind: Deeming...

Right. But the same argument could be made for not waiting 15 or 20 years for a glass of Romanee-Conti Grand Cru when you can just pick up 5 gallon jugs of Thunderbird "wine" for 99¢ each at a corner liquor store.

After the Vape Raids, a Malaysian Voice of Reason

Afdlin Shauki Aksan may not be a household word stateside, but in Malaysia he's an actor and a bright light, and in the wake of the Malaysian Health Ministy's jack-booted-thug raids on vape shops, he had questions for them we all ought to be asking our own brain-dead ANTZ that can't think...

    Cost of analogs vs vaping

Bear in mind, folks, that the deeming regulation thing may well turn the calculus we're looking at today on its head.

Something occurred to me the other day about that: we've got a potential, very powerful ally in one Mr. Barack Obama. Remember way back that he had the remnants of a smoking habit and was trying to quit? Now, keep in mind that he's a lame duck with little more than a year to go; previously, he...

HR 2058 progress report: nothing Earth-shattering, but it gained one more co-sponsor (Rep. John Kline, MN), for a total of 29, all Republican (sorry Bov, but that's the nature of the thing). It's still in committee with an estimated 4% likelihood of passage FDA Deeming Authority Clarification...

Yes, but the phrase controlled substance implies drugs regulated under the Controlled Substances Act. In the broader sense, of course licensing is control. Bottom line, we're screwed.
