Don't get all the hype of subs vs. standards

Because regulated mods that can fire low ohm coils are now available; pretty much the norm now.

Would i know if my battery was about to explode?

That is a very good video for people to watch. It shows how easy it is too short out an 18650 battery just by putting something at the top. Most people don't realise that the positive button at the top is surrounded by a negative ring which is the top of a can which is itself negative, and the...

    RDA Hot legs?

That would be a hotspot. One common problem is a hot leg, often it's on the positive leg, because the negative leg is usually more of a heat sink, being part of the main body of the item. What I do is on the positive, I wrap the leg all the way around the screw, and let the extra stick out and...

    Exploding Batteries

It's really about the 18650 lithium batteries we use in general. They are not being manufactured and distributed as consumer electronics items. Most of them have no "WARNING" or "CAUTION" labelling at all, and even standard alkaline batteries have that.

    strange kick in the throat

for 25 watts you want more like 4 to 8 mg, not 18mg. For 18mg, you'd want more like 5 to 10 watts

    Innokin Cortex

Start low and move up gradually. For 6mg, you might find 15 to 20 watts to be appropriate.

    FREAKING OUT!

sure, but when someone is changing their coil head FOR THE FIRST TIME, starting off at 20 watts and finding something not right , is not surprising.

    FREAKING OUT!

Turn down the wattage. No, 20 watts is not 'low'.
