Personally if it were me I would give your girlfriend the IPV4 and I would order a IPV3Li. I have both and am finding that I am only using the IPV3Li. I like the way it is built better. The IPV4 is a great device but it feels cheap compared to the IPV3Li and seems to hit a little harder... -

I agree about the screen, fortunately it is very easy to fix (about five minutes to remove mirror finish on display area). With the mirror finish removed on the screen section of the cover the display is very bright. -

You are correct about the ohms on the istik. I have two and both read the same. The IPv4 reads spot on with multimeter. I usually run my istik higher on watts to compensate or run it in voltage mode. I have a feeling the istik will become a backup and one will be gifted. -

Works well in power mode also. Much more power than istik 50. Running at same wattage between istik and IPv4 is not comparable. Should not be any different but it seems to be. -
