Watching the DOT dig the ditches out. That should give us a little bit of cushion if we get another storm.
Always better when the insurance you pay into pays out for repairs, PT.
They are calling for another round of heavy storms today, up to an inch of rain an hour. Ugh. Hope I can get in my driveway at the end of the day. The ditch is still full of junk and there is still a trickle of water flowing over the end of the driveway. That kind of rain will make it a river again.
I spent yesterday pulling 20lb rocks and trees as thick as my thigh outta the road and trying to unplug the culvert pipe. My 3x4ft ditch is full to the brim with mud & such and the 5-6ft deep ravine behind my place is only a foot or less deep in most places today. Serious flooding in these parts...
Serious flash flooding in my part o' the world yesterday/last night. Lots of damaged homes, roads, properties. [emoji20] The ditch in front of my house is 4 ft wide and 3 ft deep. It's full of mud and debris now. At least the river isn't carrying trees across the road today. [emoji15]
I don't know if yours are guaranteed, hitt. If you still have the documents from the job, they might say if they are.
PT, I imagine years of hail would beat them up good. Wouldn't be much fun to have to replace them while they're still functional.
Me too, Fran!!!! As the roofers were doing the tear off, theh showed me the old roof. It's only 14 yrs old. MOST of the plywood is rotted. They just called for more sheets and some new vents. I am not a happy camper.
It appears we had roof damage from snow and ice load last winter. It started leaking during that last round of storms. [emoji21]
Insurance is going to cover the replacement and the roofers are coming today. [emoji4]
Hooray for a dry house!
Where I'm from, this is called "Sinning all week and getting saved on Sunday". A good number of our politicians and leaders are proficient in it's use, unfortunately.
We had a storm here earlier. It was raining sideways and the trees were bending in all directions, but it didn't last more than 4 or 5 minutes. Hope you get normal rain soon, Fran. It's gotta be pretty dry there by now.
I remember the town from when I lived in Norman. Glad you're staying high and dry. The area I live in now is prone to flash floods from the steep hillsides. Spring and summer are interesting to say the least. People build very expensive homes and lakeside cottages on steep slopes and then...
No pics, PT. They were hungry and the food was pretty much under attack when it hit the counter. [emoji16] You can Google bacon bomb and see a hundred variations of the recipe. It's a Cardiac in the making, but very tasty!
We are hearing that you lost a firefighter in the flooding, PT. Word of line of duty deaths spreads pretty quick.
Prayers for the family and the man's station.
