Yes, he's very high functioning..but unfortunately he knows he's different. He gets along better with adults that don't look at him oddly when he is bouncing on a ball during a conversation or starts reciting movies, lol.
That is wonderful to hear!! Most parents do not teach their kids what they are dealing with. My son tends to talk to himself (reciting movies and such) and I guess it annoyed some 2nd grader on the bus so this kid tells my son he was going to come over after school and shoot him with his daddys...
I used to work with DD adults and my first job out of nursing school was in a brain injury rehab pediatric unit. Also did some home cases. At this point not sure if he'll be able to live independently, looking into getting him a service dog in a couple yrs.
