LOL, ok, but it's quite ugly. First a little back story. I had a .28" blue meter I was going to use in this build buy my cat found it and used it as a chew toy. I had already cut the box to fit and didn't want to try to fit my .36" meter in it. I have another .28" meter on order and left more...
Has anyone been able to fit the nfet, pfet and a voltmeter into a G? Just curious, you'd have to do a lot of extra space management. Has anyone else built the circuit from page 33? It seems to work great though I haven't done much testing.
Here's what my box ended up looking like after shaving it on a belt sander, I like the contrast with the black. Got everything to fit (pfet, nfet and voltmeter circuits). My battery holder works great. What can I say, I'm amazed I was able to squeeze it all in on my first try.
There is both voltage drop and battery sag and most vapers have no clue what the difference is. And most people who measure "voltage drop" are measuring a combination of the two. Of the two, in a regulated mod, sag is the only really relevant one. Voltage drop is going to be minimal unless...
As long as it doesn't move while cutting I would think it would work. I used a dremel cutoff wheel and basically melted off what I needed to. The rolls of melted plastic pull off pretty easy. It ruins a wheel though.
Been on this post regularly for months. After completing my OKR box I know how tight it is and I don't think I'm even going to try the G box until I get a couple more builds under my belt. I'm going in the B box with 26650s and planning on doing the full no idle drain circuit from page 33 plus...
So I decided to investigate the Raptor spec sheet and from what I can see at 45 deg C(113F) with no air flow running 6V the raptor gets derated to about 15.5A. At 55C it goes down to about 14.5A. So what I'm getting at is that as the components get hot they aren't quite able to perform to top...
On further investigation of the spec sheet. There is is a heat factor so if the box is hot it will trip more quickly. If you plan on chain vaping at 120w it could get hot and nuisance trip. Personally I'd rather it trip occasionally than risk blowing the board.
According to the spec sheet on these they hold 9A and will trip 16A and should hold 20A for 40 seconds each. They should be more than sufficient.
edit - plus they don't make this one any higher. You can use 650-RGEF1000 but these are the other style ones and bigger.
Damn, I forgot the vent hole. I thought about it a while ago and planned on putting one in, I just forgot. Been holding a bomb for the last few days. Thanks for the reminder.
I put magnets in a 1590B box lid and just counter sunk the screws into the main body. It didn't rock at all, the thing...
This is the parts list I used. Everything is in stock at mouser except the raptors.
