    Thanks Susan, this was my first build so the 0.3 ohm margin is acceptable to me - I was on steam-engine.org but thanks for the other link. My iStick 50W gives me an ohm reading on the led screen before I even fire it, so all good. Your advice is appreciated. :)

    Confession time. I ended up doing 6 full winds around a 3mm rod with 28 Gage A1 Kanthal, excluding the legs and ohmed out on 1.5 ohms. Mounted on screw heads. I started her up on 10W and what a surpise.... full vapor, full flavour! Pushed it up in increments of 5W and first flavour taint at 30W...

    ChiBear85, I'm following your advice. Can you confirm the inner diameter please - I'm thinking to keep it the same in bottom air hole? Also are the wraps touching or slightly separated? Are you building on screw heads or the holes?

    That is very helpful, thanks Wolfenstark! That is exactly the ohms I would like to get, do you think with 28g and 2.5mm I should make it 8wraps? Also should I keep the winds slightly apart for better wicking?
