The last time this thread came up I offered this:
Now I've got this:
Hmmm... I think I have a problem with drip-tips...
(BTW, that is the only Fluke multimeter that you can't use to measure coils.)
I missed this question.
It's bad manners. Consider if you were selling your car and some guy came round, saw some red marks on the engine block and then turned it down. That's fine; its his prerogative. How happy would you be if he took out a full page article in the local paper the next day...
I stand corrected; I didn't remember the 5P results as showing any DA.
That's even better: the NIOSH DA limit is equivalent to 60ug/ml given 3ml/day. So 131 is under the limit for just under 1.5ml/day.
If you are not interested in chasing the supplier and not bothered about getting a return on your money, then vape it by all means. It isn't thought to be dangerous if consumed at a low enough dose.
Given that the only guaranteed safe dose is zero, the NIOSH level is equivalent to 40ug/ml...
The latest study I saw is that they got together a large number of doctors and/or scientists and locked them in a room until they came up with a percentage risk for various forms of drugs. That is a surprisingly accurate method even though there is no real evidence, but it's informed guesswork...
This handy poster tells you everything you need to know in an easily digestible form: http://gfn.net.co/downloads/2014/posters/122%20Farsalinos%20%20-%20DA_AP.pdf
Cloud9 describe the timeline here: Liquid test results - update - Blog - Cloud 9 Vaping
By using the Wayback Machine, we can see that they were listing it under Popular Brands on March 15th: Cloud 9 Vaping - electronic cigarettes, e-liquid & vaping supplies
but that it had disappeared by May...
The one thing we need to prove to the FDA, if that is ever possible, is that the industry can regulate itself.
Sure, we mustn't descend to name calling and ugliness, but we must make sure that abusive vendors cannot do business. Publishing test results is not an action that should be taken...
There will not be a lawsuit because neither side can afford one, whatever the situation or outcome.
Cloud9 can't afford the lawyers; it isn't their business that they are fighting for.
Five Pawns can't afford to shine a spotlight on their procedures. There's enough evidence of serious...
Not that I've heard. And from what I've seen, at least one of them had already reformulated their liquid by the time that Cloud9 posted their results. It's not like this is some huge shock. They've had since May 5th to respond.
For me the important disagreement is not the presence of AP and whether that is harmful. (For all of 5P's protests, there is a NIOSH limit for it.)
It is far more concerning that there are three different assays for AP with wildly different results, the VG/PG ratio appears to be wholly wrong...
I am not a lawyer, but...
I'd have to check the libel laws on that. The truth is a perfect defense but if the mistake is on Coloud9's side, they might be in the wrong.
I believe they could argue that either the USA or the UK were valid jurisdictions since Cloud9's website can be viewed in the...
The posted PDFs are not a handmade spreadsheet with numbers on. They are exactly what I would expect as a summary report from a laboratory. These are from this one: Analytical services, West Yorkshire Joint Services
Cloud9 is not being fraudulent here. There may be a mistake, there has to be a...
Start with 35ml of both PG and VG, then add 30ml of mixed flavouring. The flavouring is almost all PG with just traces of the flavouring chemicals. So you get 65:35 PG:VG, which is close to those numbers. You can get closer to 70:30 if you don't count the PG in the nicotine solution either.
I...
It seems to me that they have not taken into account that they have added 30% flavouring diluted with PG, although that sounds like a lot of flavouring. Also note that some of those assays report significantly less than 3mg/ml of nicotine. They only sell 0, 3, 6, 12 and 18.
That is the correct amount for a DA/AP test. That is what was quoted following Dr.F's study and what Enthalpy, the lab he used, charges.
Which only tells you about the bottle that you have. From what has been said and their own test results, I have a feeling 5P has a problem with the consistency...
How many people diagnosed with COPD have had a biopsy? How many people with smoking-related disease listed on their death certificate have had a post-mortem? It seems to me that the answer in both cases is probably "very few."
ETA: There are two sets of test results linked to 5P's news release...
There should be no legal ban on vaping anywhere. There is no public health issue that could make one desirable.
However, it is always the owner's/manager's decision what they allow where. If one of them decides that vaping is an annoyance to their clientele then they can ban it. They always...
