Not enough cotton in that build. I (we) have been down this road. I use twice that amount of cotton even twisting it up so it gets small enough to fit through the coil. Since I went back to more is better ZERO wicking issues.....
If bt does not change with the times and real fast they will become just like kodak and many other companies but could they survive without cigarettes sales?
Yes have read your posts it works for you and that's great... it's all that counts. Just saying you might have issues if you try to turn the wattage up too high.
Trial and error
I avg about a week before I change out my cotton wicks 2 refills a day
I think you are going to need to do alot of trial and error to push wattage up very high using silica that why alot of us use cotton or other wicking materials
I may have to try rayon again.
When I tried it before it did not wick well for me but I was on that less is better kick then.
Might work now that more is better is my prefered method
This getting real quiet....After using these steady for about a year now I guess we have all got them mastered.
When in doubt use just a tad more cotton should be trouble free
I have rolled a piece of cotton tight in my fingers for 5 minutes to shrink the size down and then yanked it through my coil. The cotton pretty much keeps it's shape and no dry hits. I am sure (or pretty sure) if I stuffed the deck with cotton it might not work... but I will have to try that...
I don't think you can get too much cotton inside the coil to the point that it chokes off and will not wick. In my tests I could not get to much cotton in the coil. Yes if you use too much you can taste the cotton. You can vape through that and the taste goes away or just pull the cotton out and...
Agree 100%.... I don't remember when the less is better notion started but I fell for it also. My kayfun's worked perfect in the beginning but then I started playing with the less is better notion and spend a month trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Then I woke up and went back to...
Some times I read too much. My kayfuns were working great for months then I kept reading less is better. Spent a month fiddling with less is better notion forgetting how well they used to work. Back to more twisting almost as tight as a silica wick and worked perfect....again
This the same results I concluded. More is better. From reading too much I started using less cotton and it just does not work. I even lightly twist the cotton and insert into the coil never a dry hit. Vaping at 15.5 watts
I hate to say it... as it's settling for what works but my biggest gripe is the battery life I can live with it shutting down a couple of times a day. Cloupor did say the reason battery only charges to 99% is because they stop it at 4.1 volts (they say safer that way....ahh ok...lol)
I never did the bad firmware update... noticed the posts and stayed away.
T5 has some issue I hope will be fixed sometime soon. Have you noticed any of these issues fixed with the so called new firmware that is different than orginal firmware.
Only charges to 99% when using usb... Random...
I always take it with a grain of salt when someone comes on with his first post and claims 3 bad units in less than a week of any device (may may not be the case here)
