Comments Please on AAPHP Petitions to FDA

I'll just throw in my view on the "tobacco product" vs "drug delivery device" vs "reduced harm" vs "-some new category-": Like has been stated before (in whole or in part), a specific, (at least semi-)knowledgeable part of the government has already decided what electronic cigarettes are. They...

New unique method to deliver nicotine

Pyruvic acid was mentioned to a member of the community as being a breakthrough to replace current electronic cigarettes. What the article doesn't say (and almost alludes to the negative on) is whether or not the method produces visible mist. It is most electronic cigarette users' opinions that...

Excellent, excellent news. The war isn't over, but for the time being we can celebrate a victorious battle. Thank you to everyone who made this happen with their letters, emails, filings, and general support. Thank you especially to Judge Leon for his wise decision. -Nate Vice-chair Right to...

    Jesus christ, the dues!!!

Just to poke the bear a little here: What would you like out of a "consumer membership"? What would be the benefit? Would you get a newsletter? Maybe a nice hat? Bragging rights to say "I'm a member of the ECA"? If the only thing that you're looking to get out of membership is the ability to...

Electronic cigarettes under fire for targeting Arizona kids

I believe that this has become Mr. Salmon's viewpoint. He said in the Vaper's Place chat that he thinks that it would be a good move to stop producing non-tobacco flavored e-liquid. I do not believe that that is official ECA policy. If you notice, the way that's worded (albeit poorly) it makes...

Banzass on a roll again. Call him

Can you cite your source on the 0.8 ng/ml? I'm pretty sure it's 8 ng/cartridge. Since I'm not sure what model that was, I would imagine that's about 1/3 ml, so you're looking at about 24 ng/ml (or 0.12 ng per puff, ratio of 2750:1, 13.75 ml e-liquid/cigarette). Can someone verify either way please?

Hoosiers - Marion County to have ecig ban

I did write to Dr. Nitzkin and ask that he send a follow-up to the board correcting the typographical error and apologizing for the mistake. Hopefully, no harm, no foul. I can just see our opponents latching onto this letter from a doctor and using one small error as gospel. I do thank both Dr...

Oh dear... That bit should read propylene glycol. Ethylene glycol is in fact toxic, and not something that anyone should be ingesting in any capacity.

Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

This is something that I've kicked around myself. If you look at how nicotine is regulated, and how caffeine is regulated, you notice that each substance has two completely different regulatory categories depending on how it is being sold. Nicotine, when contained in a tobacco product, is a...

Nasty anti-e cig editorial in LA Times

Now now... *some* oversight is a good thing. For instance, to prevent companies from *intentionally* using diethylene glycol. Or to stop them adding extra, unnecessary ingredients to make these things as addictive as possible. Or to make sure that the liquid that you're using wasn't just mixed...

Need Your Attendance Tomorrow Monday 10/26/09, 8 PM

BonnieGirl of Right to Vape has been in contact with Mr. Hopper. He appears willing to listen to facts supporting electronic cigarettes. RtV (Right to Vape)-developments

Lashes, It's weird, I had the exact same thoughts the first time I visited Right to Vape. "What are they really doing?" "This looks just like ECF." "Why bother hanging around here?" Later I was compelled to get a hold of some of the Volunteers and ask about joining the activist group inside...

Not really. Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen sodium, dextromethorphan... all drugs that are found in most households, bought over the counter with no problems at all. Even most prescription medication isn't a controlled substance. Controlled substances are usually narcotics, are kept under...

Ehm... what if even *I* don't know the color of my first car or where I lived when I was 21? For instance... I'm pretty sure that my first car was registered to my dad, and my current car is registered to my fiance. Not totally sure that I've ever had a car registered in my name. I also find it...
