Child tobacco pickers get sick- Fox News

Sorry, I was speaking with my tongue in my cheek. My point was that these kids ARE getting sick from working in the fields. The article points out that it may not be the nicotine, it may be the pesticides. Either way, they should be wearing something over exposed skin. If Stric9 thinks that that...

Child tobacco pickers get sick- Fox News

Really? Do we have to jump to "this is BS"? The kids are working, making money (not a lot by our standards, but there it must be enough); what's wrong with giving them a pair of gloves and a long sleeve shirt? Hell, even if they have to pay for it out of their wages, it's not that big a deal. If...

Child tobacco pickers get sick- Fox News

Best part of the whole article. It's terrible, but we cannot apply our own standards to areas where people live entirely different lives than we do. The paradox is that industrialization and economic prosperity created this situation where young children care for their families. Take a look at...

Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

... onto a boat! I think the concept there is that the FDA isn't going to like the idea of bottles of nicotine liquid sitting in someone's fridge next to the OJ. It's (at least) a perceived safety hazard. Imagine if the patches came like this: a box of 14 adhesive patches and a bottle of...

FDA’s Youtube Channel released feature on ecigs (August 19)

Here's some good info: Food Ingredients So caffeine was determined to be GRAS, but if at any time it is shown otherwise they reserve the right to yank it. Nicotine is not GRAS, so testing and approval would have to be done in order to even use it as a food additive. Not to mention that you...

FDA’s Youtube Channel released feature on ecigs (August 19)

Quick search reveals this: THE CAFFEINE REPORT: Appears that the FDA regulates is as both a drug and a food additive... I'll find out what the difference is and get back to you. EDIT: Well, here's this: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/MEDLINEPLUS/ency/article/002435.htm I know that I read somewhere...

larcat - As far as I know, you are correct that most likely a true no-nicotine liquid would have to follow food standards. The only problem is that VG and food flavor are not tested nor approved for inhalation. I *believe* that PG is, but it's never been used for inhalation in a context where...

News Releases 20AUG2009 - Medical News Today and ASH

Catwoman: That is what is under contention in the SE v FDA case. According to the FDA, electronic cigarettes are a new drug, and subject to regulation. As such, it is illegal to sell, market, or import them. That case will decide whether this claim is accurate as the law sees it. So to...

Awww... I just tend to see Sun trying so hard to explain himself and not coming through the way it's obvious to me he intends... he does in writing what I do in speech: leaves out important points that he has in his head, but never make it out of the skull. Surf, I think it's less about what IS happening and more about what kind of precedent has now been set and what CAN happen now.

Oregon AG's using Office to try to ban selling of 'E-cigarette'

Well, that's the thing. As you acknowledge, sales of electronic cigarettes *may* be against the law. As I stated earlier, that point is in contention and the AG may have jumped the gun in acting on the perception of unlawful activity.
