    I understand this will vary by setup, but 4-5 days sounds like a pretty short lifespan. I've had the same coil now for around 3 weeks and it even survived removing a coil to reduce resistance. If it's setup properly, and not glowing regularly, why would a coil break after 4-5 days?

    I was looking through some toolboxes I acquired after my father passed and found a decent size spool of wire. Stainless Steel Mig wire, .030" diameter. AWS A5.9 ASME SFA 5 if that means anything to anyone. I understand this is for his mig welder which I never used, but would this wire be safe...

    I ran everything under water and cut a loop out of the coil bringing it to 1.7 ohm. Turned up the voltage to 4.1 and so far so good. Vapor production/taste has returned and no discoloration after about a half tank since the cleaning.

    Thx lorderos33, that makes sense. This coil just started breaking in more and the resistance is a tad higher and I've gone down a couple tenths of a volt. Might have to try taking a coil loop out.

    Has anyone noticed certain juices they use appear to get contaminated and not others? I decided to try 2/3 LorAnn Naturals and 1/3 regular LorAnn Pomegranate in my latest batch and the juice inside the tank is getting darker and darker. I'm wondering if maybe this is just the Naturals not...

    +1 for tighter wick. Also 65/35 may be too high of vg for 400, might want to try 80/20 mix or #325 mesh
