There's also various Dremel workstations available if you don't have a vice or just need easier control. I was thinking of picking one of these up for drilling a center hold in the stone, but will wait for my Dremel bit order to come in and see how hard it is to do freehand first.
I have some very think SS tubing left over from bottom/top feeders I made a while back. I wonder if I could leave the end cut so that it would drill through the core of the stone. I've used it in my Dremel to drill air holes in pyrex without a problem.
Amazon has others without the cooling holes. I just ordered these this morning.
3pc Large 40mm 1-5/8" Diamond Cut-Off Grinding Wheels - Fits Dremel - Cut Glass Stone Tile Hardened Steel - 3 Grits - Amazon.com
Edit: nm I see you ordered the same thing
I'm planning on giving this a shot when my Dremel bit order comes in. I haven't worked with this material yet, but wouldn't the twisting motion of a tap snap the stone easily? My plan is to slowly carve out the channel using a diamond burr bit.
Stopped by the Petsmart down the street and was happy to find plenty of Top Fin fine bubble stones. I'm assuming the small, medium, and large stones are the same material?
I picked up a bunch so I should be good for a while. Too bad the Depot didn't have any small tanks for my Berzomatic nor...
I don't have my DID in yet to try it, but I wonder if a rubber or plastic sleeve similar to those we use in the SGv3s would provide some cushion to the ceramic wick?
Just ordered a DID clone and tanks, can't wait to give this a shot.
kwalka is right, real Dremels are worth the money. I've had mine for 10 years or so and couldn't live without it.
That's why I said, "as long as it has the diamond cutting surface under the label" :) Didn't notice how thick it was or that it requires the Saw-Max. Poor example I guess, but I plan on picking mine out at the display.
Dremel is a great tool to have around the house. I think any of the diamond wheels will work as it's just the hardness you need for cutting this material. Harbor Freight probably has different brands, but I plan on picking up something like this as long as it has the diamond cutting surface...
Awesome site, thanks! Can't wait to pimp out my SGv3 and pick up a DID. Mind if I ask where you picked up the DID clone? Just want to make sure I'm getting the right atty for their DuD/Chid size. Thx again
I never heard of a 'DID clone' so I'm a bit behind the times  A quick Google search turned up a site (vaping zone) that sells them. Is there a site that sells them with the clear tanks or is there some tubing I need to order?
Dan, what atty is that? I'd like to give this a shot but all I have is a handful of SGV3s and a GTUS. I'd like to keep my GTUS setup as-is, so maybe I can seal one of the SGv3 holes and go that route until the co-op DonkeyPunch speaks of is active...but if there is something I can pick up to use...
Been away from the modding forums for a couple months. Looks like there have been some interesting new concepts coming out.
Have they given any idea of a time frame for releasing this product?
I just finished making updates to the eJuice Calculator on the site. It now has the ability to use a non-pure PG base (i.e. VG base or premixed ratio) and VG based flavorings. I used Scubabatdan's eJuice_Calculatorv13 to verify pure VG, PG, and zero nicotine recipes. Everything matches up...
Wow, I'm surprised I never heard of that place. I'll definitely have to check it out next time I'm out that way. I live in Depew so it's not far.
I added Juicy Vapor to the recipe drop down. Once a recipe is created it should auto populate on the search page. I also changed the Top Contributors...
