I'd be curious... What size side hole did you drill? Did you drill more than one? I've never drilled thru SS on a convex suface. Such a small sized bit! What kind of RBA? I had the same thing happen on a Grand and blew the spring. As someone suggested, it appeared the RBA's cover was making contact with one of the posts once I screwed it on tight. Have you tried screwing the RBA onto the VVG without the top cover on? In my situation I think... -

I takes some experimentation to get it working. To me it sounds like the tubing is too long. Take a good look at the threaded part of the bottom of the A7.
