    I think I got lucky. My VERY first attempt at making a coil. I think it was 5 wraps around a 14 gauge needle. The 400 mesh seems to be working well. I din't see any "insulator" in the coil. I think I remember hearing some have them some don't. I bought the 3lb box of Rayon from Sally's.
