[RE: advice given to me about my "Dry Coil" warning] I agree. I have always allowed atty && mod to sit a while before attempting to calibrate the coil. Maybe I can get into the habit of calibrating after a long sitting spell. Inconvenient, but not in any major way. I decided to get another Erl...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

Just to add, I always enjoyed reading Tbev's posts before he became an ECF supplier. I /think/ I remember some of his posts soon after (or perhaps while) he machined his first mod. It was bare aluminum and was his avatar for quite a while. Very impressive work, though it doesn't pull on my purse...

Very dry. I am careful with such connections and maintain them very well. <pulls atty for a triple check> Yep, clean, dry and shiny. I would think so, too. Especially since the first times it happened to me, it was in the house the whole time. IDK. Will try to have pen & paper handy more...

Snug as a bug. I can feel the ErlK make contact with the mod's center pin way before screwing it all the way down. Also, I did double check the coil capture screws when I re-wicked with cotton, but I'll check again next re-wick.

Well I'll be. It just happened again. "Dry Coil" with about a third or almost half a tank left. I let it sit for (unknown time period, > 1 hour) and got that dry coil warning. Left it in this state: Mode: eco Temp: 392°F (default temp after 2.1 update) Joules: 25.0 0.073Ω (I think. Must take...

PS. I would trust a file from the source, but they could post the MD5 hash for others to verify if they're not getting files from the source.

Great! I'm not saying you got a foul file earlier. It could be something as simple as a glitch during the download - a glitch in the Matrix, so to speak. Which pill did you take BEFORE your coffee?

Shoot a foot off? The files I d/l were rar files, but in either case, they can just post the MD5 numbers next to the file links. No need to modify files themselves. For instance, the files I downloaded from their site: YiHi-SXi-Setup-v20150522-1621.rar MD5 is dd1be7b75e9e61cfc05b8a89e0514dcc...

I'm thinking that with all this software flying willy-nilly around the web, it might behoove YiHi to post the MD5 checksums on their site. Although I guess that wouldn't help with unreleased software unless, as mentioned earlier, they post those too and clearly label the files beta or stable (or...

Hmm, can't find it anywhere. I will chalk it up as a middle of the night foggy brained memory. No idea what could have caused it, but I did experience it more than once with v1.4. I haven't put it down long enough since updating to 2.1 to see if it is still happening. I doubt it, but will take...

Woa, CONGRATULATIONS! Rob had started one of his woodvil runs when I first started looking into BF. I was watching that development closely, but it had fewer mods than the most recent run. Yea, well, this particular system hasn't had any problems. But I don't use it for much more than Web surfing and simple photo edits - with Gimp. It's relatively clean, too since I've been using portable apps more than fully installed apps. But you're right. I should do another system backup...
