    Let's Talk Hardware

I've seen a couple of one-offs, but if you feel like building your own from 3D printed materials, gdeal has an entire thread that started with the DNA30, but there are instructions for the DNA40. I have been tempted many times to build this, but just haven't been able to get enough round tuits...

    The PV Picture Game

Great challenge! I have a blurry pic from August this year with a Vaping Allowed sticker in the bar at a local seafood restaurant, but I don't have a PV in frame. I don't know if I'll get a chance to drop in today and get a better pic with a PV, but we'll see - if nobody beats me to it.

Thanks! And thanks to Cullin for the great timing on that challenge. Yesterday happened to be the first day I used the fireplace this season.

That's why we have bottom feeders ;) I run a range from 0.25 to 1.8Ω these days. Not cloud chasing, but finding what works best for me in my setups - mechanicals and regulateds. I do like my varieties. This seems to extend to flavors as well. And whiskey. Canadian, Irish, Scots, American. All...

Heh. I can't believe I forgot to include the scariest mishap. The day the fan hit Sumpin' The Dibi Sumpin' came out victorious in that battle, though. Not a scratch or ding added to the finish or the atty on top. I think I just felt another spasm.

    The PV Picture Game

Challenge 198: Your PV next to your favorite sound system or speakers. Anything from a little MP3 player on up to crazy powerful systems work.

"Oh crap!" was all I could type around here. I would get banned if I answered that question honestly. I'm an old salt and these things happened within earshot of other old salts. Some of them winced, but they all understood me perfectly. Although I think I saw some innocent tourists shrivel...

And I'm so gentle with my gear. Er, wait a minute . . . Dibi Sumpin' broken (glued back together) EA lost on boat (recovered) Vamo overboard Erlkönigin plastic tank smashed R91 plastic tank broken Cyclone threads munged (repaired) I guess that's not such a great track record.:(

Grrrr! At least I got that fancy keychain/screwdriver/flashlight thingy that I'll probably never use.

    Let's Talk Hardware

Sorry about that. It really is OK, though since I have the nano kit running on it. erlkoenigin.com is out of stock of 22mm SS tanks and I won't pay the price to get one of their plastic tanks delivered here, so I ordered a glass tank from IBtanked. I think I'll like it better anyway.

    Let's Talk Hardware

Well, as long as we're in atty destruction mode, I may as well show what happened a couple of days ago... Shut my lift gate right smack onto the ErlK. None of the metal parts were damaged and I was able to use my nano tank with it. I want more juice capacity so I'm waiting for a replacement tank.

    The Erlkönigin : PICTORIAL

Shoot. erlkoenigin.com is out of stock for the 22mm, 6ml steel tanks and I don't feel like paying $40+ to get a plastic tank delivered to my door. Guess I'll look into ibtanked for a glass replacement. I like glass, but find their site confusing. I'll figure something out, though. Have to. I...

    The Erlkönigin : PICTORIAL

Thanks. I went out to check scene of the crime and there was still a pool of liquid on the bumper. And it was surrounded by yellow crime scene tape. Good news is that the coil and wick are just fine. Good enough that I didn't bother to rewick when I put the nano chimney and tank on there...

Sure, go right ahead. Check the Exif data and you can even share the location (I think FB strips the Exif data when posting)

    The Erlkönigin : PICTORIAL

Hmm. Maybe I should run out and check the car :O Seriously, though. I didn't really slam the gate, it closes easily. And I don't think it even touched any of the metal. The gap is smaller than the tank diameter, but large enough not to pinch the metal - I think. Still haven't checked the car.
  16. Bimini Twist

    The Erlkönigin : PICTORIAL

There is a gap between the lift gate and the bumper. All the metal parts appear to be fine, even the wick and coil appear to be good. We'll see when I try putting the nano kit on there - after checking resistance, of course. Standard absent minded behavior I've always had. Did the same thing...

    The PV Picture Game

That's about all I would be able to do here. The leaves go directly from green to brown and drop right off. Nanos + Magma with Bobas Bounty Challenge 196: Your PV on the dash of your car with a road in view - driver's or passenger's POV. Motion not required. Extra points with a cloud in...

    The Erlkönigin : PICTORIAL

Mmmmm. Still on my first coil, I changed the wick yesterday afternoon. Somehow my luck with coiling and wicking new atties still holds true. It's running great! I don't need a spare tank. I am gentle when assembling my ErlK. I won't break the tank. I will not over tighten it. I am very...

Thanks. I just felt clumsy trying to wrap around a screwdriver that I'm trying to balance on the Veritas. Pre-wrapping made it just a tad easier.
