    The FDA Loses Appeal!

Woohoo Coz!! That's one ingredient. It's not ideal as it doesn't cover long-term vaporizing, but I'll content myself with that. Now how about those studies showing the flavoring agents are safe to inhale. Has anybody tracked those down yet?

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

That study is from 1947, the time when we were still using DDT, DES, thalidomide for morning sickness, lead paint, and asbestos. I think before we deem is safe, it would probably be better to have something within the last 50 years.

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

There have been studies that showed some of the ingredients in juice were potentially bad- bad enough that popcorn makers removed it, but enough that public safety agencies have forced a reinvestigation of our favorite chemical because of the hazards on vaporized inhalation. Since I presume you...

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

I've asked repeatedly, as have others. Could you please point me to the studies that show that these are safe? Or even actually safer? As any pulmonologist can tell you, cancer is but one of the horrible things that can happen to your lungs. And I have yet to see one piece of proof that they...

Vapor Corp. featured on front cover...

I don't know that we'll ever hear it on TV. As a tobacco product, there are very stringent restrictions on where it can be advertised and TV is verboten, nor will we soon be seeing the Ego Open Tennis Tournament.

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

Actually, the reason more physicians have not jumped on the ecig bandwagon is because it is untested. While an occasional physician may shrug and say it's okay in the privacy of the exam room, you are not going to find very many willing to go on record advocating the use of them until there has...

    Does vaping cause phlegm?

I do agree with you that we each have to make the choice, much like we did with smoking. However, we smoked in spite of knowing the risks. So this should be the place where we can discuss the possible risks of an ecig and unless that knowledge is out there, using an ecig is essentially the...

    Does vaping cause phlegm?

I feel pretty much the same as you, Kpax, especially after I started finding out what some of the stuff was in the juices. We all come on this forum and curse the tobacco industry because they poisoned us with their 4,000 chemicals, but then turn around and act like we don't have a right to be...

    this angry girl is angry

Maybe go back and read again. She caught it before it had been processed and was assured the first time that it would not be a problem, and the second time that it had been done and shipped. If he hadn't wanted to change it, he should have just told her that, instead of telling her that he...

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

Actually, I suspect that the bigger tobacco companies already have warehouses full of ecigs ready to roll out...at the very least a factory (undoubtedly in China) ready to roll out the branded ecigs batteries and cute little mini-pack size boxes of Marlboro Red carts or cartos. I don't think...

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

Maybe I've gotten too cynical since the whole diacetyl et al safety issues were raised back in mid October, but I don't really believe that Phillip Morris will be any more shady and secretive about what's in the juice than our current vendors. And on reading the FTPCA bill, it would seem that...

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

I think if you read the FTPCA along with bill authorizing it, the opposite appears to be true. The ecig industry will not be able to declare itself a safer tobacco product unless they can provide the testing to prove otherwise. I think it's still a matter of conjecture whether the FDA will...

    this angry girl is angry

Actually, it seems there are a couple new names each time there is a bad post. It seems like there is a safety in numbers, and so when they see that somebody has been brave enough to deal with the backlash that comes from posting a negative review for this vendor, they feel comfortable doing...

Huffington Post - negative one-sided article about court ruling??!!

My experience has been that the same my body, my choice types are the ones that first started pushing cigarette smokers out the door, so it comes as no real surprise that they would take the same stand on vaping.

Appeals court ruling- what if ?

Soon as I finish up the bottle of low (about 1/4) flavoring juice I have here, I will be going the no flavoring route. As far as health concerns, the greatest danger is from the flavoring agents, and since i switched to save my lungs, I'm going to err on the side of caution and eliminate the...

I want to say three words... .... THE FDA

I'm not sure how we're they're going to figure out the tax on a bottle of liquids. I hope that they don't decide to charge cartos based on the false claims that some sites make about how long they last....you know, the ones that say each carto lasts the equivalent of two packs of cigarettes...

    I Have to Quit

What kind of equipment are you using? I was using an eGo with standard equipment and had a hard time giving up the last few cigarettes a day. Then I got a 5V passthrough and LR atomizers/carts, and I gave them up no problem. I have since gone back to standard atomizers, but within about a...

FDA LOSES APPEAL CAN'T REGULATE e-CIGS

Had it gone the other way, it would have essentially meant it was taken off the market for years until it was actually proven to be safe. So, if you go for the silver-lining, accepting that it is not proven safe and is a tobacco product keeps it on the market.

    The FDA Loses Appeal!

Warb, I'd be interested in knowing how they define a "new product". Anybody seeking to market a new tobacco product has to go through the FDA. Ecigs may end up grandfathered in, as cigarettes and cigars were, but it is also possible that the court case served to delay their being named a...

FDA LOSES APPEAL CAN'T REGULATE e-CIGS

They can't regulate it as a drug delivery device. They can still regulate it, or more correctly the juice portion, as a tobacco product.
