Newbie looking for advice on ecigs specifically green smoke

This isn't a review of the Green Smoke unit, but it has a lot of good information concerning "cig-a-like" format e-cigs. Don't be surprised if you warm up to the idea of buying bottles of juice after burning through a bunch of cartomizers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkfEClUkUec

Halo doesnt want your bad negitive reviews

By no means am I trying to make a causal correlation with the following statement; I'm simply stating my observations: On three different occasions, I have tried to submit a two-star review of Halo's Voodoo juice, which I think is generous given my distaste for it. After the first rejection, I...

    My portable pass through

I call this the BFPT: Big Freakin' Passthru. It works well from 5V to 15V, so it's great on vehicle power. I use it at home on a homemade bench power supply made from an ATX power supply. Not quite the same thing, but it'll work with two lithium cells as well.

    Vamo v3 on NiMH

You could try running an OKR-T/6 in there, though it needs 1.5V above its setting as an input, so you might be cutting it close. I would get one and do some bench testing, but the price plus overseas shipping is a bit steep for me. I know the V2 can handle at least 9V from when I benched and...

    Because we can. :toast:

    Vamo v3 on NiMH

Where did you get your PCB? This may be a silly question, but does the "HHHHHHH" error happen on a legitimate low voltage condition as well as when it has 5.4V connected?

    Vamo PCB with NiMH batteries

Thanks! IIRC it's a V2 because it has the RMS option. I should clarify that the 100 ohm resistor is only in the circuit for a few seconds, after connecting the batteries but before turning on the Vamo board with five clicks. Once the board is going, it is connected directly to the batteries...

    question about power source.. .

How to Convert a Computer ATX Power Supply to a Lab Power Supply This is one of many quick how-to sites on turning an ATX power supply into a bench unit. I use one at home and it works like a boss.

    Where's the fun in that?

the 4 botton board wont reconize ni mh batteries

Excellent work! It's good to see a puck builder working through issues. Can we see some pics?

    El Kamino from GLV

I loved it without steeping, but it's a complex flavor, so I imagine everyone tastes something a little different from it. Let us know how the steeping works out.

    Why's my avatar so small

It's not the size of the avatar, it's whether you Photoshopped something vape-related into it. :vapor:

RANT!!!! I'm sick and tired of the "Whatever keeps you off analogs" response

You know, sometimes I want a greater complexity of flavor and more exquisite experience from my alcohol. Other times, I just want to drink Steel Reserve until I pass out. Whatever keeps you off sobriety. ;)

    Vamo PCB with NiMH batteries

I almost forgot to post the good stuff for those interested... I build this into a 4xAAA box and wired the 100-ohm resistor into the box's switch. It's a SPDT switch, so I have the resistor in series with the battery pack until the board's display flashes three times. Then I switch it...

need help with a puck mod!

The big problem with using 3xAA NiMH batteries with the DNA20 board would be the voltage drop of the cells under load. The battery voltage will drop ~.3 volts per cell, bringing full load voltage to more like 4.1 fully charged, not considering boost. Under boost, which is what the DNA20 board...

    Vamo PCB with NiMH batteries

Here's my completed Vamo Puck. It works fine with the NiMH batteries and on a USB port. It hits its amp limit before 15W because of the voltage being supplied, but it still works really well.

This is what I built out of that buck/boost board. It works like a boss in my truck. :vapor:

    Vamo PCB with NiMH batteries

I've been doing a battery drain test on my initial Vamo NiMH build and it seems to be performing as well as the VV Gripper, which is to say it's doing well. The batteries are down to 4.7V at rest and the board isn't throwing a Lo V even at 15W (or whatever its actual output is, if it's hitting...

    Vamo PCB with NiMH batteries

Thanks for the info. I did a max amp test on the VV Gripper board, which is essentially the same tech without VW and RMS. It capped at 3A. It's great to see that the Vamo board also has a higher current limit.
