    I've seen people make this mistake on genesis videos where they wrap the center conductor in the same direction as the coil wrap. It creates an open air gap for the top "leg" of the coil which becomes a hot spot, as there is nowhere to dissipate the heat from the wire. Sorry for the crude...

    It is the rapid cooling down of the stainless by quenching in water that tempers it, making it harder, but very brittle. I have made springs in this way before, using normal mild steel wire. Has anyone tried oxidizing the SS without quenching it? Just give it a little time to cool off normally...

    Great answer! I'm also at 0 nic now, so I really appreciate the "higher voltage for TH" suggestion. I thought I would have to get used to absolutely no TH, and was looking into some non-nicotine additive or something. Monster vapor sounds good to me! Thanks again!

    Is the throat hit affected in any way, BJ? I only ask because I seem to recall from one of Raidy's posts that 325 gave a harder TH and less vapor production and the 400 a softer TH with more vapor production.
