    All my mods part1

Whoa, there, gaijin; "sumimasen"... Raidy's work is amazing, no doubt about it. Very professionally made and as his videos show, they are excellent performers. Miniature fog machines, from what I've seen. We are no doubt blessed with many exceptional modders here on ECF, but don't put down the...

    ACDC v2.1

Good job, Tomcatt! I like it, I like it! The innards look very cozy and well thought-out (better'n any of mine, for sure!). I like the industrial, "worn" look on the outside; it has character! If you're anything like me, you should go real easy on the Dremel at first. I spent the first couple...

    New Coil design

LOL! Forgive me, guys, but I just went back and re-read my post and I just realized I didn't just have a brain fart; more like brain ........! I honestly don't know WTH I was thinking! When I read Nico's post talking about fanning the flames I face-palmed again! Why the hell I thought...

    New Coil design

Warning: the following statement was typed in a moment of lunacy. I will leave it here just for lulz. Great discussion, peeps! Lemme throw in my couple of pennies... In its current configuration, as air is drawn through the center "tube" formed by the wick, it forms a high pressure stream...

    I'm a soldering junkie... Here's my stash & info

@SiBurning: I thought it was an STSS, LOL. Took a closer look and saw the dual ports and little "shelf" on the top left where the power switch is. Metcal IS expensive, though. Luckily, mine was a gift, and came with loads of different tips, solder, extra handle and workstand. My biggest gripe...

    I'm a soldering junkie... Here's my stash & info

:w00t:Metcal SSTS-001 FTW!!! I own one and simply LOVE IT! Don't have the solder spool holder, tho. Which is why I have a few broken spools (they don't survive too many drops, LOL)! Maybe a tad over the top, but still, great setup!

MY 3.7 and my 5.v works of art.

Wow, sweet paintjobs on those, kaykay! boomer2506, that is some fantastic work! +2 on the Spongemod!!! Wouldn't this make an awesome "template" of sorts? (the one on the right): Maybe put together a sleeve/cover for the atty/carto in the shape of his Krusty Krab uniform (hat, LOL): That would...

5v mod with no resistors or regulators. Awesome battery life. Cheap as hell. No soldering/epoxy needed.

Good lawd, have I ever been there! Last time I had exactly ten dollars left to my name I had to use them to buy a pair of rubber boots to start my new job! Being penniless is scary as is.. Being penniless with a wife and 2 kids just freaked me the hell out! I was able to bounce back...

5v mod with no resistors or regulators. Awesome battery life. Cheap as hell. No soldering/epoxy needed.

Guys, the point of sonicares' mod is to show how a mod can be built from scratch with basic hand tools and no "specialized" equipment. I do believe he pulled it off rather nicely, and produced a good-looking, working PV. Look at it as how some people can start a fire with 2 sticks. Sure, you can...

    Started my first battery mod

I, for one, enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with, regardless of skill level. I have yet to see someone diss any mod yet, which is why I still visit the forum regularly! I say, damn the torpedoes, this mod is my own creation; haters gonna hate!

Atty connector? Battery connector? Which is which?

Whoa, am I glad I'm not the only one confused by this particular terminology! I also call it the atty connector, whereas Madvapes (correctly, I guess) calls it a battery connector (I had to go and actually check my receipt for that, LOL)! Ask me again tomorrow and watch my brow wrinkle yet...

The Executive Pensovape 510 is a pen

Wow! The student stealth vaper's dream! Awesome job, I love it!

    What not to do; stupidity

No worries, Todd! I see no solder bridges in the pic, that's definitely flux residue, as Quigsworth said. Take an old toothbrush and dip it into some rubbing alcohol and brush that stuff away for a nice clean finish. Should have no problems with it IMO!

    Just ruined a switch

I hear ya, Todd. I also use 18g solid on my boxes (have a lot of fire alarm wire around from when I worked as an installer) and it IS kinda "heavy handed". My horn switch contact also broke off. I'd switch to stranded, but I hate having to deal with strands not wanting to go in the connector...

    The ACDC

Heck, YES!!! \m/\m/ ETA: Frickin' NICE mod, BTW, TomCatt!

Since I vape at my desk, I had an idea...

Variable voltage, variable current, displays for both, multiple outputs and... free power. That, sir, is the ultimate passthrough! Now you can just slap a UPS on that sucker, put it on a handtruck and vape around town! LOL

5v mod with no resistors or regulators. Awesome battery life. Cheap as hell. No soldering/epoxy needed.

First of all, let me commend you, sonicares, for your resourcefulness! A mod put together with extremely basic tools and works is a definite win in my book; you, sir, are ready for the zombie apocalypse / rise of the machines! That said, I believe the other posters are not trying to put your...

    my copper passthru

Ooh, good call on the shoelace trick, asdaq! Maybe use a tightly coiled spring as strain relief for extra mojo points! LMAO@ fat neon yellow laces; takes me back to RunDMC and shelltop Adidas, LOL! @Str8V8ping: Noooooo!! Not the Fender Tweed cablez, nooooo! LOL

    my copper passthru

It works, it looks great, it'll probably outlast ANY commercial PT. What's not special about that? Awesome job; thanks 4 sharing! Love the strain relief cable, BTW, makes it look extra professional! Now that I think about it, I wonder how badass one of these would look with some vintage...
