exactly, an LC filter (assume no losses) will produce a low ripple DC voltage equal to the pre filter Vrms. Might be easier if rms was called 'true voltage' as it applys to true power. average is just that .. peak voltage has been removed and it is required for a power calculation. I leave you...

totally agree with most of this .. provari uses PWM internally, provape say its PWM .. i think cause people have heard that pwm is more efficient than a linear regulator andvthey dumbed it down a little. I agree its being pedantic but saying the darwin and provari ARE pwm is to put them in a...

BTUs use time as well, so you get more BTU the longer you hold the button down. battery Wh probably directly converts to BTU's taking into account mod efficiency. interesting thought .. but way to complicate the issue :) watts is perfectly useable..

there is no need to filter it, there is no need to measure it. it just needs to be correct. its an ecig, at the end of the day it evaporates liquid, adding cost and filtering it to make it so you don't need a scope is ridiculous. cartos don't care if it is filtered. if you want to get all...

cmon guys, internet experts are making more assumptions based on little knowledge, i keep cringing when i read posts, thats how this whole thing went wrong in the first place because inexperience won and now we get burnt cartos. it costs a manufacturer zero extra to make a device put out rms...

    Shocked about e-cig misconceptions

another easy to fix misconception when giving info to smokers, we gave had a few who get concerned when we suggest 24mg nic .. 'but my cigarettes only have 1mg i don't want to get more addicted'. So on aussievapers forum we have taken to calling it 2.4% nic, instead of sounding strong, it now...

    Rate my noob set-up

its pretty good for a setup, i would be taking ine if he ego chargers to work though. i am lucky to get 4 hours from a 650 twist. standard 900 ego and an ego C atty will last all day and have better flavour so long as you stick with dekang juices, the attys are not fans of strong flavours as...

Looking for a HIGH END / HIGH QUALITY PV that will put out lots of vapor

not many people bemoan the day they bought a provari, gets my vote. i own 2, bought a secondhand one when i lost mine for a week. i can't part with my spare.

cheers, 3 left in this batch then a 3 week wait for parts, i have a thread on vapor wall currently.

I have a pretty good grasp on physics actually. heat is energy, energy is joules .. ok, the amount the coil will heat up to is based on how many joules per second are fed into it and how many joules per second it can lose. the temperature at which these match is the temperature it will...

20W for a quarter of the time will feel EXACTLY the same as 5W continuous. pwm figures are not hard to work out at all. any wattage is v^2 /R where v is rms, with a pwm mod you use the peak voltage and multiply by the duty cycle. Pout = ( Vpeak^2 / R ) * duty having a mod that hits too hard...

actually its not the case at all, a provari is a switch mode. go and look at pwm and switch modes on wiki, the only similarity is that both use a duty cycle, a switch mode converts electrical energy into a magnetic field then back to electrical again. pwm has no magnetics and can not boost at all.

    100% VG -- how to

well after a really long think, i think it was probably the quadrupling of power that blew that coil. /sarcasm.. how about we stick to devices not being instantly destroyed for discussion. the point you have not addressed and which seems to be the entire crux of your PG is bad crusade, is that...

    ProVari Variable Voltage Mod

it is NOT pwm, pwm implies the switched voltage is applied to the load directly, the filtering being performed by the load itself. it is not being simply 'cleaned up' .. thats implying a simple RC filter. you are completely ignoring the magnetics for energy storage providing the boost. You can...

    100% VG -- how to

After some consideration, I have decided that flash point may make a difference but exactly the opposite to what kreator has decided. since the flash point is the basically the point at which the liquid becomes a vapour and leaves the hot surface, its then going to cool down .. no part of...

its just watts and more watts RC. nothing wrong with watts if thats what you want, the genesis attys you like can cope easily with them and thats where I wlll have to head with the vmax. the issue here is not even that its indicated voltage is incorrect .. its simply that I can NOT turn the unit...

not sure how you came to the conclusion the vmax is correct. i just meaured open circuit voltage 3.0 out at 4.5v rms, 4.2 under load .. so its not only wrong, it also doesn't regulate very well. since i rarely go over 4.3 or so, there is no setting i can adjust the vmax to so i can even use it...
